Chapter 6
Antonio didn’t hear that clearly, “What did you say?”
The soldier scratched his head and replied, “Wasn’t Ms. Kaufman burying Luna now?
“She told me yesterday in person. Didn’t she tell you?”
Antonio seemed frozen, cold sweats coming out of his back. He felt an overwhelming coldness throughout his body as if falling into an abyss.
“Wh…What? Burying Luna?”
His vision started to spin, bringing him almost down on his knees.
He remembered the day I called him, begging him to use his power to get the best medicine for Luna, even though he knew I had never asked him such a thing.
His face turned pale, thinking of how I said nothing all these days.
“That’s impossible!” screamed Antonio, who had lost his senses, clenching his teeth.
He grabbed the soldier by the collar with red eyes and bleeding lips, “Fuck! What the hell are you talking about? I’ve just called Luna a month ago!”
The soldier couldn’t quite figure out why he was acting this way

person…Yesterday, she fell into a river and almost died. I saved her. Her face was pale as a dead person, so I offered her a ride home. She said she was going to the station.
“I asked where she was heading to. She told me she had to bury Luna in her hometown. She pointed at a box saying it was. Luna’s ashes. She wanted to show Luna what the battalion was
like.
“I swear I’m not lying to you!”
Antonio felt his head was smashed by a hammer. He couldn’t see or hear anything.
A giant web closed in on his heart, tighter with each beat, slowly choking him.
“No…no way…how could it be?”
Rage seized Antonio, his eyes were blood–red.
“It’s not true!”
He dashed to the apartment complex, screaming my name like a lunatic.
He was hoping to see me, telling him what the soldier had said was all fake.
At some point, he even wanted to barge into his house to look for me.
He was like a wild animal on a rampage, beating whoever came in the way. His shoes were nowhere to be seen, and one of his feet was cut by a glass fragment, bleeding along the way. But

he just kept looking for me as if he couldn’t feel the pain.
Craig asked a group of people to take Antonio to him.

At Craig’s office, Antonio sat there, eyes blank of expression.
“Anything else? I have to keep looking for my wife.”
Craig sighed, seeing how worn out he had become.
“I told you. You should’ve listened to me. When you brought that Dorthy here, I warned you to keep your kindness to your family.
“Look what you have done. Now that Grace decided to leave you, you should respect her choices.”
Craig handed a divorce settlement to Antonio, “Here. This is the last thing Grace left for you.”
Antonio’s face shook in disbelief.
“It can’t be. I’ve never filled any divorce papers!”
Hope flickered in his eyes, “This is fake! She is still my wife. I have to find her and get her back!”
Craig shook his head and said, “It’s your signature there. You are in no position to be her husband, hot after what you have done to her for another woman.
“Also, someone reported you for your infidelity. From now on, you are suspended and will be investigated. Go home.”
Antonio couldn’t say anything as if being choked by a hand.
He went back home depressed and bumped into a conversation

between Dorthy and Allen unexpectedly.
“Mom, is that woman really gone? I was hoping she would be dead in that river! Will she come back again?”
“She’s lucky this time! Rumor has it that she filed for divorce. I don’t think she’ll come back, but even if she does, we have nothing to be afraid of. Just pretend you have a stomach and turn Antonio against her.
“No woman can tolerate her husband messing around with another woman! The other night, moaned extra loud just for her. And the next day I found a wet pillow in her room! She probably cried the whole night. It’s hilarious!”
