Chapter 18
For the next half month. Grace was busy with her performances and naturally had no spare time to care about Antonio.
Until the last performance ended, she finally welcomed a long–awaited
vacation.
Just as Grace was about to rent a car for a road trip, she received a call from Antonio’s assistant.
The assistant on the phone only said that Antonio had an issue, begging her to come to the Kaufman family.
Grace, who was familiar with Antonio’s personality, assumed it was just another one of his retaliations, but she couldn’t be bothered to expose him.
Just being good–tempered, he said, “I am not a doctor and I cannot help
him.”
She hung up the phone without waiting for the other person to respond after she finished speaking.
Even to prevent the other party from bothering her again, she thoughtfully added the other party’s phone number to the blacklist.
Afterwards. Grace threw her phone and prepared to take a taxi to the car dealership to rent a car.
After getting on the car and telling the driver the destination, Grace sat in the back seat and fell asleep.
A long time later, the driver stopped the car and woke up Grace, only
saying that.
Grace didn’t think much either, she paid and got off the car in a daze.
She only realized that the driver had taken the wrong route and actually brought her to the Kaufman family mansion after she saw the building in front of her.
Grace was both angry and amused, as she took out her phone to call for a taxi again and started to leave.
Little did they know, at that moment, the gate of the villa was opened and the Kaufman family’s butler emerged with a group of servants.
At the moment when he saw Grace, the butler was both surprised and delighted, saying, “Mrs. and Ms. Parish, you have finally arrived!”
After speaking, the butler led a group of people and ushered Grace into
the villa.
The moment she stepped back into the Kaufman family mansion, a flicker of nostalgia flashed in her eyes.
Grace left in such a hurry that she didn’t take many things with her.
So the entire villa still maintained the appearance it had when she left, making her believe for a moment that she had never actually left.
The butler on the side was extremely attentive, serving her tea and water while explaining the ins and outs to her.
Antonio did not retaliate against her.
Since the last time he and Grace parted ways, he seemed to have changed completely. He would lock himself in his room all day, drinking heavily, and shouting her name.
The butler was afraid that Antonio would get into trouble, so he called Grace over using this method.
He explained to Grace in a low voice as he led her upstairs.
After listening to the butler’s words, Grace felt a mix of emotions in her
heart.
Antonio looked as if he was telling others to leave him, as if he couldn’t go on without them.
But if he really loved her. then why could he have been so heartless to retaliate against her back then?
As the butler gently pushed open the door, a strong smell of alcohol suddenly invaded Grace’s nostrils.
The heavy curtains were tightly drawn, making it difficult for Grace to see the figure slumped on the ground.
She didn’t go in, she just stood at the door and smiled slightly at the butler. “Isn’t he still doing well?”
“It seems that there was no longer a need for me.”
After saying that, Grace turned around and was about to leave, which frightened the butler. He quickly blocked her and shouted towards the house.
“Mr. Kaufman, Ms. Parrish arrived!”
Upon hearing the words, the man, who was sitting on the ground in a drunken state, lifted his eyelids and looked hazily towards the door.
Perhaps unable to see the person at the door, Antonio shook his head and tried to open his eyes wider.
Finally, when Antonio saw Grace’s whole figure clearly in front of his eyes, he instantly got up from the ground and stumbled towards her.
“Grace!”
Grace couldn’t avoid it in time, and her whole body was trapped in his embrace
“Grace, you finally came to see me… Please, don’t leave me…”
Antonio thought that the person in front of him was a hallucination. caused by his excessive drinking, so he didn’t hide his inner desires.
He raised his hand and cupped her face, about to kiss her.
“Snap!”
He was greeted by a hard slap from Grace, and while the man was stunned, she pushed him away.
“Antonio, what were you going crazy about!”
