Chapter
He had no objections because, after all, he had no feelings for her.
In fact, he even blamed her. She upset Juliet, or he wouldn’t have had to spend any anniversaries with her at all.
But this time, Grace seemed oddly quiet.
On their way to the villa, she sat in the passenger seat quietly.
She told him how much she loved him out of the blue. Other than that, she didn’t ask him anything, including the details of today’s anniversary.
She was like a lifeless doll, and he could do whatever he wanted.
Besides, he had left the villa for so long, and the fire had been burning for almost the same length of time. But till now, she hadn’t even called him.
Realizing something was off, he took out his phone hurriedly.
He kept refreshing the screen.
Yet, no matter how many times he tried, he received no new notification. Grace hadn’t called him or texted him.
His heart started to race as a bad feeling engulfed him.
Suddenly, he looked up at the villa in fire, his face pale.
Finally, he couldn’t take it anymore and started to run toward the villa.
“Antonio! Where are you going?”
Seeing this, everyone was startled and wanted to stop him.
He was about to say something when a loud bang rang out.
Immediately, the villa was enveloped by the thick smoke from the

explosion.
Their expressions changed as they realized something wrong.
Just as they were about to come near the villa to check out the situation, the sounds of explosion rang out ceaselessly, shaking the ground.
Meanwhile, thick, dark smoke billowed out from the villa.
Debris and fragments flew in all directions.
“Grace!”
Antonio’s mind went blank. All he could think of was Grace was still
inside.
Regardless of everything, he was about to rush into the villa.
But his friends stopped him, grabbing him with great force.
“Calm down, Antonio. If you rush in there, you’ll die!”
“We’ve called the police. The search team is on their way.”
“She’ll be fine.”
With bloodshot eyes, Antonio stared at the flames that illuminated the sky.
“Scram!”
Somehow, he summoned up great strength and broke free from them. Then he was about to charge into the fire again.
“Antonio!”
Another big bang echoed.
It started to rain heavily, and the rainwater put out the flames. Dark smoke rose in billows from the ruins.
The rescue workers, with the searching dogs, scoured through the ruins, searching for Grace’s remains.
No one expected her to survive this.
After all, it was a big fire, and there were so many explosions.
In the distance. Antonio was covered in blood. Ignoring the doctor’s suggestion, he insisted on standing in the rain, waiting for the search
results.
“Here!”
One of the rescue workers exclaimed, and Antonio’s dull eyes lit up at
once.
He rushed over as quickly as he could, though his body was stiff.
At the same time, the rescue workers lifted a corpse whose face was ruined and whose body was covered in blood and dust.
Because of the huge explosions and the fire, the corpse was all curled up.
That terrifying face was facing Antonio head–on.
Though it was beyond recognition, he knew exactly who it was.
Because he was the one who left her there, leaving her consumed by fire.
