Chapter 6
The manager was followed by a group of senior executives from the hotel chain, who also bowed and apologized along with their leader. The scene was quite hilarious.
Even the slowest–witted realized what was happening.
The two were indeed from the Parrish family.
The reporters were even more excited than before, yet they dared not act recklessly given our presence. Their faces flushed red with suppressed eagerness until one bold reporter cautiously asked, “Mr. Parrish, may I take a photo of you two together?”
I glanced at my father. Seeing him nod, I graciously linked my arm with his. “Of course.”
The next morning, the headlines were bound to explode again. The thought hit me.
At that moment, Antonio finally snapped out of his daze. He strode forward, his eyes bloodshot.
“You lied to me, Grace! You were never anyone ordinary! You played me like a fool! You must be feeling pretty pleased with yourself, right?”
I chuckled softly. “But Antonio, this ‘liar‘ handed you opportunities that money alone could never buy.
“And you, the so–called biggest star in the industry, made your fortune off women. Even when we broke up, you still wanted one final favor in exchange for a career boost. You were the one who cheated, yet you let me take the fall as the homewrecker. Why are you holding your head that

high?”
Scandal after scandal broke loose. The reporters were more than excited as they captured every word of mine.
“So our superstar did climb the ranks thanks to his agent… And the agent turns out to be a Parrish…” a reporter muttered unconsciously as his fingers flew across their tablet screen.
The very reporters Antonio had brought in to humiliate me ended up throwing countless bombs right back at him.
When I had a nobody, they called me a love–struck fool.
But now that my identity was revealed, they said I was just a wealthy heiress having fun, playing around with an actor for amusement.
Such was the nature of the world.
Antonio had never faced a situation like this before. All these years, I had protected him too well.
His handsome face twisted in fury, his eyes bloodshot as he tried to lunge at me, only to be restrained by the bodyguards nearby.
“Grace Parrish, just you wait! I don’t think the Parrish family can control the whole Seattle!”
The reporters were holding back laughter. Finally, a kind–hearted reporter gently tugged on Antonio’s sleeve, whispering, “Mr. Kaufman, you might want to reconsider. This is the Parrish family. Maybe an apology to Ms. Parrish would…”
“Get the hell away from me, you spineless loser! You think I’m scared? I’ll show you who really holds the power here!”
At my signal, the bodyguards released him. He immediately pulled out his

phone and began dialing every one of his so–called powerful contacts.
Those five minutes stretched unbearably long. Antonio called over ten different people, but every single one was either busy or unreachable.
He was on the verge of breaking down.
Ever since he met me, his career had been smooth sailing, with opportunities falling into his lap effortlessly.
He had the audacity to believe it was all due to his own talent.
All the achievements he had gained in the showbiz were never just about his effort. I was lifting him.
The new star was now plummeting towards his downfall.
How could he accept that?
Just then, the doors swung open once more. Abigail appeared like a
savior.
Antonio’s eyes lit up, and he shot me a smile.
But his supposed “savior” crushed his last bit of hope with her very first words.
“Antonio, what’s going on? My father just called. He told me to break off our engagement immediately. He said you’ve offended someone even the Hall family wouldn’t dare cross!”
