Chapter 7
Abigail anxiously grabbed Antonio’s hand, looking reluctant to break up with him.
Her sobbing voice was like a final death knell, pounding heavily on Antonio’s heart.
Losing even the last shred of dignity, he suddenly turned hostile and violently flung Abigail to the ground.
“You, too, came to insult me while I’m down? You’ve truly disappointed me.”
Abigail had never suffered such humiliation. Her eyes widened in fury, just as my father spoke up.
“Was it you who slapped my daughter?”
His voice was calm, carrying the composed authority.
“I raised my daughter up. When she was little, even a mild injury would make her mother and I fret over it for days.
“Her mother passed away early, which made me cherish her even more. I’ve watched over her like the apple of my eye. Even when she lost her mind over a man, I couldn’t bring myself to scold or punish her.
“When she suffers outside, I lie awake at home all night, wondering how I’ll ever face her mother in the afterlife.
“Ms. Hall, what exactly did she do to make you this angry?”
Abigail trembled under his presence. She couldn’t understand why this

middle–aged man, speaking so leisurely and seemingly harmless, could exude such an intense aura. His gaze was as cold as ice when he looked at
her.
I bit my lip hard, my eyes welling up with tears.
I had never shown my father the same devotion I had foolishly given to Antonio all these years. I was a truly unworthy daughter.
I had naively rushed headlong for love, while my father spent his days alone, paying the price for my willful behaviors.
Abigail stubbornly tried to maintain her arrogance and snapped at my father. “Who are you? Why are you telling me this? Your daughter stole my fiancé. She’s the shameless one…”
A sharp slap echoed through the room. Abigail’s delicate face was instantly swollen up, blood dripping from the corner of her lips.
That was a hard slap. For a moment, no one dared to speak.
The bodyguards continued to slap her. The sound reverberated through the spacious VIP room, sending chills down everyone’s spine.
Abigail’s once–perfect face now looked horrible.
No one would recognize that she was once the heiress to whom a top celebrity had proposed.
“Ms. Hall, don’t worry. Since you’ve taken these slaps, I, Steven Parrish, promise not to trouble the Hall family any further. People say the father should bear the blame for failing to educate his child, and you’ve just taken the punishment on his behalf. It can be seen as the duty of a daughter.”
Abigail’s eyes widened in horror. “You… you’re Steven Parrish… No wonder, no wonder my father said…”

She could barely speak clearly, but everyone understood what she meant.
No matter how arrogant she was, she was no match for the Parrish family. This time, she got herself into real trouble.
Stambling to her feet, she covered her face and bolted out of the room,
Antonio watched the dramatic scene unfold before him, his face turning deathly pale. At this moment, he finally realized the true weight of my identity.
He had thought Abigail was the highest branch he could climb, yet he never imagined that the real big shot had been right beside him all along.
It was just that I was no longer there for him after years of suffering.
I learned from my mistakes the hard way. And I would start a new chapter of my life.
As for Antonio, he was doomed..
Without me, he was nothing.
That night, all social media platforms exploded, releasing the same set of headlines in unison.
“Parrish Family Patriarch Takes a Stand for His Daughter by Slapping the Hall Heiress” made front page news.
Then came evidence of Antonio’s infidelity–an audio recording proving he had cheated on his fiancée with a wealthy woman. It even revealed how he had threatened his ex–girlfriend, Grace, coercing her into sleeping with him for resources.
Under every news article, an avalanche of condemnation rained down on Antonio. Every brand he had partnered with was working through the night, issuing statements to sever ties. No one wanted to risk provoking

the Parrish family.
The backlash came swiftly. Antonio’s former fans flooded his fan forum, turning it into a spectacle for his rivals.
The hashtag “Don’t Be Like Antonio Kaufman” shot to the top of trending topics. On resale platforms, all the products related to him could no longer be sold out. No one wanted them.
