If I recalled correctly, the swimming pool my dad sponsored wasn’t even completed yet.[]
He had also casually mentioned wanting to fund a

And now, the school was forcing me to take a leave of absence on completely fabricated charges!]]
I let out a cold laugh and challenged the advisor over the phone:[]
“Are you sure you want me to take a gap year? Aren’t you worried I’ll file
a
complaint with the Department of Education?”
The advisor on the other end sounded impatient:[]
“Olivia, can you stop making trouble? Do you realize who you’ve offended? The Reed’s daughter! If she gets upset, the school can kiss that new library goodbye.“]
“The school is looking out for you. Angering Reed Industries is bad for all of us. Just take the gap year.“]]
After hearing the advisor’s words, I was surprised. My dad had only mentioned the library donation to me.]
How did the advisor know about it?]
Was Ashley really my dad’s secret daughter? Is that how she knew about the library plans?
I needed to call my dad immediately and get to the bottom of this.[]
But just as I took out my phone, I saw Ashley’s mom emerging from the townhouse, awkwardly wearing a familiar–looking dress.
It was the custom dress I had designed for my mom![]
This dress had taken me half a year to design based on my mom’s preferences and measurements. I’d hired a master tailor to handcraft it stitch by stitch.[]
My mom had been looking forward to trying it on.[]
But now, this exquisite piece was stretched over Ashley’s overweight mother’s frame.]
In some places, the threads had already started to tear.{}]
My mom saw it and couldn’t believe her eyes]
“Olivia, isn’t that the dress you designed…?“]
Seeing the dress ruined like this. I was furious. I rushed forward, shouting
“That’s the dress I had custom–made for my mom! Who said you could wear it?
Ashley’s mom was startled by my outburst but quickly recovered and slapped me across the face

“So you’re my husband’s illegitimate daughter? Completely ill–mannered!“]
“This was a gift from my daughter. I’ll wear it however I please!“]
“Look at your mother–what a plain Jane. Has the nerve to be a homewrecker. Shameless!“]
The onlookers chimed in:[]
“Exactly! I don’t know what Mr. Reed was thinking. His wife is so beautiful, yet he went off to keep a plain Jane on the side.“[]

“If you ask me, a student like this should be expelled outright, before she corrupts the others.“[]

My mom trembled with anger:[]
“You people not only trespass on private property but assault my daughter. I’m calling the police!“]]
But as she took out her phone, a quick–eyed student snatched it away:[]
“A homewrecker wants to call the police? Even if they came, they’d arrest you first for destroying someone’s family!“[]
“Besides, the wife and daughter of Reed Industries command more respect even from the police.”
Ashley heard this and nodded smugly:]
“Well said. Wasn’t your dad trying to bid on Reed Industries‘ advertising business? No need to bid anymore–your family company can have the contract!”
The student was instantly excited, his face flushing red:[]
“Thank you, Ashley! That’s so generous of Mr. Reed’s princess!“[]
But I was speechless at Ashley’s brazen behavior.[]
Reed Industries‘ advertising contracts were always handled through open bidding by the board of directors. Didn’t she realize her actions could tarrush Jackson Reed’s reputation?]
Seeing me frown silently, Ashley smirked and pointed to the townhouse door
“Since you’re not convinced, I’ll give you one more chance.“]
“You claim this is your house, right? Then you should know the door code.“[]
The townhouse code had always been iny birthday–set by my dad personally
But when I entered the numbers, the electronic lock sounded an error.]}]
I was shocked again.
