Chapter 5
Several students around us burst into laughter.]]
Then I remembered someone who could confirm my identity.[]
When I visited the property with my dad, we had chatted with the security guard. My dad had even given him an expensive box of Marlboro. He could vouch for me.]
But when I called the guard over and asked him about my relationship with Jackson Reed in front of everyone…[]
He hesitated.
He glanced nervously at Ashley, then whispered:[]
“Being a mistress isn’t something to be proud of. Why are you putting me on the spot in front of his wife and child?”
“You’re so young–why sell your body when you could do anything else? Aren’t you afraid of the shame this will bring you?“[]
I was completely stunned.[]
Apparently, when the guard had seen me arriving in my dad’s luxury car at the townhouse, he had jumped to all the wrong conclusions.
Ashley stood nearby, barely able to contain her grin.[]
She patted the security guard’s shoulder approvingly:]
“That’s what I expect from security at a luxury property–good judgment. I’ll tell my dad to give you a raise.”
The guard beamed:[]
“Thank you, Ms. Reed. I’ll be even more vigilant in my duties.“[]
I was about to defend myself when I heard my mom cry out behind me.]
Turning around, I saw Ashley’s mother straddling my mom on the ground, violently pulling at her hair and clothes. My mom was nearly exposed.[]
Ashley’s mother shouted viciously:]
“You seduced my husband? Today I’ll strip you naked and show everyone how you enticed him!“]]
I was horrified and rushed to help my mom.]
But Ashley stuck out her foot and tripped me, sending me sprawling face first on the ground.[]
Faced with Ashley’s mother’s brutality, the onlooking students didn’t intervene–they cheered:[]
“You’re the real deal, Mrs. Reed! Puts mistresses in their place with authority!“]
Chapter 5
Ignoring the dirt on my clothes, I scrambled up and pushed Ashley’s mother away, covering my mom’s exposed areas.]
My mom had been teaching for over a decade, always gentle and refined, never one to resort to violence.]]
Now she was trembling, eyes red with shock:[]
“Olivia, I just didn’t want her to ruin that dress…“]
Ashley’s mother spat, then picked up a glass of red wine and poured it directly onto the dress:[]
“My daughter gave me this dress. I’ll ruin it if I want to!“[]
Ashley joined in:[]
“Exactly! Even if Reed family property ends up in the trash, it’s still too good for a homewrecker like you!“[|]
I held my mom and declared fiercely:[]
“Ashley, if anything happens to my mom, I’ll make you pay!“[]
Ashley looked unconcerned:[]
“It’s not a big deal. My dad is the CEO of Reed Industries. Even if your mom died, it would just cost some money to settle. Why all the fuss?”
Everyone around her nodded quickly, eager to show their agreement.[]
Looking at these people, I couldn’t help but laugh coldly.[]
So money gives you the right to take lives?]
If Jackson Reed didn’t give me an explanation for all this, I would disown him as my father.[]
Just then, my mom suddenly had an asthma attack.[]
But we’d left her medication at home.[]
As her breathing became increasingly labored, I shakily took out my phone to call an ambulance.[]
Ashley saw this and grabbed my phone away.[]
She looked at me triumphantly:]
“Seems like even fate wants to punish your mom for destroying someone’s family.“[]
“Better if she dies. One less homewrecker in the world!“[]
“Want to call an ambulance? Kneel down, and I’ll give you back your phone.“]
With blazing eyes, I knelt without hesitation, desperate to save my mom []
But Ashley just snorted and threw my phone into the nearby artificial lake[]
Chapter 3
Watching my phone disappear, I held my mom and felt tears welling up.[]
At that moment, a Rolls–Royce suddenly pulled up nearby.[]
A familiar figure in a tailored suit slowly stepped out.]
