Chapter 7
Hearing this, Ashley laughed loudly:]
“Seems like playing fake for too long makes you believe you’re real. How pathetic!“[]
“Anyone can get a fake ID with enough money. You think I’m that easily fooled?“]
Then she called her mother over and asked, pointing at Jackson:[]
“Mom, is this man Dad?“]
Ashley’s mother studied Jackson for a while, then firmly shook her head:[]
This person looks very similar to your father, but he’s not your father.“[]
Ashley nodded smugly and pointed at Jackson’s Rolls–Royce:[]
“Is that luxury car rented too? What, addicted to playing rich? Today I’ll smash that car to teach you a lesson. See if you’ll still pretend after that!“]]
With that, Ashley started to call over some male students to vandalize the Rolls–Royce.]]
Just then, one student held her back, whispering:
1
“Ashley, this guy doesn’t seem like he’s pretending. My brother works at Reed Industries, and I’ve seen the CEO’s car. I remember the license plate–it’s this one. Even if he wanted to rent a car, how could he get the exact car the real CEO uses?”
Ashley glanced at him and announced loudly:
“What are you afraid of? This car belongs to my dad. Go ahead and smash it. I’ll take responsibility for any problems!“]
Hearing Ashley’s assurance, everyone became energized and began looking for rocks and bricks.]
I was heartbroken about the car and wanted to stop them.]
After all, Jackson had just bought this car recently and treasured it. It would be a shame to see it destroyed.[]
But Jackson held me back, winking at me and whispering:[]
“My sweet daughter, if you want revenge, don’t stop them. Only when they go too far will there be no way back.“[]
I immediately understood Jackson’s meaning and stopped trying to intervene.[]
So I watched as that luxury car’s windshield and windows were smashed.[]
Even the hood wasn’t spared–it was dented inward.[]
But Ashley still wasn’t satisfied. She took out her keys and viciously scratched “FAKE:” in large letters across the car body.[]

Looking at those letters, I couldn’t help but smile.[]
Soon she would find out who the real fake was.]]
Just then, someone opened the car’s trunk and removed a wooden box.
Opening it, his eyes lit up as he shouted:[]
“Everyone, look! This fake has something valuable in the car–looks like an imperial jade bracelet!“]
Ashley snorted:[]
“Whether it’s jade or gold, smash it.“[]
But despite her words, no one dared to touch it.[]
Because next to the jade bracelet was its auction certificate, showing its value–exactly twenty million dollars.]
Several guys were stunned by the price on the certificate.]
Seeing no one move, Ashley’s mother suddenly snatched the box and violently smashed it on the ground.
“A fake could never afford such an expensive bracelet–it must be counterfeit. Fakes deserve to be shattered, whether it’s jewelry or people.“[]
The crowd applauded:[]
“That’s a real Mrs. Reed for you–such insight, so different from us commoners.”
Watching the jade bracelet shatter, my heart ached.]]
Jackson looked equally pained–this bracelet was an expensive auction item he’d bought as a wedding anniversary gift for Mom, now destroyed by Ashley and her mother.[]
Seeing our expressions, Ashley looked triumphant:[]
“What’s wrong? Regretting it now? Too late–you imposters get ready to be bankrupted! Let’s see how you explain this to the rental company!“]]
Just then, Ashley’s phone rang.[]
I glanced at it–the caller ID showed “Dad“.[]
But Jackson was standing right beside me, his phone still in his pocket. He hadn’t taken it out once.[]
I looked at Jackson and saw him watching Ashley with great interest.
Apparently, he too had guessed that the call was from the real impostor.
