Chapter 14
Otherwise, Nicole wouldn’t have fought with her over a come so fiercely.
Abigail truly hated Eric and Nicole. She also hated herself for not seeing his true nature sooner and for not leaving him earlier.
From now on, she would never be foolish again.
“How pathetic.” Abigail laughed bitterly. “I never imagined you would see me like this. It’s my fault. I was blind to fall for someone I shouldn’t have. I guess I deserve it now that I’ve ended up like this.”
A sharp pain pierced her chest, and thinking about the comea still caused her heart to ache.
“Don’t say that.” Ryan’s serious voice Interrupted her thoughts.
She felt her hand being gently held
“This isn’t your fault. You don’t need to say that about yourself. It’s Eric’s fault. He betrayed your love, he doesn’t deserve you. From now on, take good care of yourself. Don’t let him hurt you again.”
His voice was gentle, and Abigail’s nose tingled.
Las her eyes willed up.
“I won’t,” she rasped. “From now on, I’ll take care of myself.”
Ryan looked at her, sensing her restraint. Perhaps she needed some space to vent
“You must be hungry, Walt here. I’ll get you some food!” He released her hand and left the ward.
Meanwhile, Nicole’s surgery had been completed, and the operating room door opened. The doctor emerged, removing his mask.
“Mr. Gomez, the surgery was successful,” the doctor announced. “Her eyesight should be restored in a week.”
“That’s good to hear,” Eric felt relieved upon hearing the news.
With the anesthesia still in effect, Nicole was wheeled into a VIP room.
He stood by her bed, looking at her eyes wrapped in bandages. Yes, in his mind, Abigail’s figure kept appearing
Her words echoed in his mind. “I feel disgusted just looking at you.”
His emotions, which had already calmed, flared up again. He wanted to drag her back and punish her.
She felt disgusted just looking at him? Who was really disgusting here?
He felt increasingly agitated as he turned and left the room, his face hardening. He took out his phone and dialed Abigail’s number.
Her phone went unanswered, so he called the villa to ask Peter if she had returned Peter said she hadn’t
Suddenly, he remembered that she hadn’t been home for some time; she had been staying with Jacinta. He strode toward the elevater, and when the dours opened, he saw Jacinta inside.
Jacinta had just learned about the surgery and rushed over, but she was too late. Seeing Eric, she rushed forward and slapped him.
“You scumbag Heartless bastard! I’ve finally found you!”
Eric, stunned by the slap, was furious. “Are you crazy?”
She trembled with anger. “Yes, I’m crazy! No matter how much you dislike Abigail, she’s still your wife! How could you be so heartless? Abby was blind to fall for you. If you hate her so much, divorce her! Why torture her like this?
“I’m telling you, plenty of men would love to be with her. If you don’t appreciate her, someone else will!”
These words were the last straw for Eric. His sharp gaze locked on Jacinta “Where is Abigail?”
“You’re asking me?” Jacinta sneered. “I should be asking you! Abigall should have been in surgery, so where did you take her? Eric, you’ve gone so far as to harm your wife. You’re really something!”
Thinking of Abigail, Jacinta didn’t want to waste more time with him and Domed to leave.
But Eric blocked her way and coldly demanded, “This will be the last time I ask. Where is Abigail?”
“You can ask me a hundred times, but I don’t know!” Jacinta snapped. “She’s your wife, so why are you asking me? Stop pretending to care now! Get lost!
After cursing him out, she stormed off, determined not to let the scumbag anywhere near Abigail again, to keep her friend from being hurt.
She found Abigail in the ward, sitting up against the headboard. Her ence beautiful eyes now lacked sparkle two clear glass beads. Jacinta’s heart broke as she walked over to her.
