Chapter 23
Erle sneered after hearing the message. “Very well”
“And Ms. Reed also urged you to sign the divorce papers. She said she can’t wait any longer.”
Nicole hesitated for a moment before continuing “Erie, I feel like she might misunderstand me and you. Her expression was really frightening when she saw me. She kept staring at my eyes, holding a grudge over the cornes, thinkding 1 took it from her. She even said,.”
Eric asked cokly, “What did she say?”
“She said that she wanted to gouge my eyes out. She was mally angry.”
she whispered
But she quickly added, “Eric, this must have been just in the heat of the moment. Ms. Reed wouldn’t be so malicious…”
“She still hasn’t leamed anything!” Eric’s voice was as cold as ice. She thinks I can’t live without her? What a joke! You’ll accompany me for this banquet.”
Nicole was taken aback. “Erk, this might not be appropriate. What if Mr. Gomez Senior asks? I’ll be hard to explain.”
“If we don’t say anything, how would he know?” He was still filled with anger. He stretched out his arm. “Come, Take my arm.”
H
“Oh.” She obediently took his arm and lowered her head, a smile playing on her lips.
When others saw Eric suddenly appearing with a woman, they started gossiping.
Although everyone knew he was married, no one had ever seen Abigail, and he had never publicly shown her
They all speculated that the woman might be his wife.
Eric had asked Nicole to accompany him, but it was just out of anger. Now, having calmed down, he didn’t see the need anymore.
He told Nicole to wait for him and greeted the banquet host. The host was an old friend of Derrick’s, so bringing Nicole to him wouldn’t be appropriate.
When he left, a lady came over to speak with Niedo,
You must be Mrs. Gomez, right? I didn’t expect you to be so young and beautiful.”
Nicole’s heart fluttered when she heard that and didn’t deny it. Easad, she asked, “May I ask who you are?”
The lady smiled. “I’m Mrs. Melendez”
Abigall wandered aimlessly through the streets. She couldn’t stop thinking about what Monle had said Eric knew everything,
How could a person be this cool?
She had thought he simply didn’t love her, but he despised and even hated her. Meeting him had indeed been the greatest punishment of her life. Her eyes sting, and she telt as if her body had been torn in two. Even her bones and veins ached.
She stopped when she saw a brightly lit sign. Looking up, she realized it was a bar and walked inside.
“Mr. Tucker, you’re leaving already? It’s still early. Why don’t you stay and play a little longer?”
“I have had enough. I partied all night yesterday. I can’t handle it today.” Gavin waved at his group of friends, ready to leave, but suddenly spotted a familiar figure at the bar.
He raised an eyebrow and sneered. “What day is it today?
“What day?“” someone nearly asked, confused. “The 18th.”
Gavin rolled his eyes. “Nonsense!”
He ignored them and strode toward the bar.
Abigail didn’t know how much she had drunk, only that her vision was starting to blur, and her head was beginning to throb again.
Her eyes were getting worse, the stabbing pain more frequent, and it was accompanied by blurred vision.
She hadn’t brought her medication with her. She squeezed her eyes shut, hoping to ease the pain momentarily. Suddenly, a loud sound of someone slarining a table echoed from beside her.
