Chapter 37
“Get out,” Abigail said coldly.
Eric’s anger fired, but he quickly calmed himself. She was blind now, so it was normal for her to be irritable. However, no one had ever slapped him in
Was it really necessary to go this far just because of a bit of get? Moreover, she had schemed against him, forcing him to marry her. He had solved so many of her problems back then, or else Cormar’s cornies would have tom her apart.
What an ungrateful woman.
Eric suddenly stood up, looking at her coldly, “Fine. If you don’t want it, so be it. It’s not me who’s in pain!”
His footsteps were hurried, clearly showing just how angry he was
She gritted her teeth, slowly feeling her way off the bed and to the door.
“Mrs. Gomez, what are you doing down here? The maid’s, Mary Fox, voice rang out, followed by a gentle hand guiding her back toward the room. Please sit down and let me apply the ointment for you“,
“No!” Abigail suddenly lost her temper, shaking off Mary’s hand and angrily shouting, “I don’t want the ointment! I just want to leave this place! Eric brought me here without my consent. I’ve already asked for a divorce! Can you take me away?”
Mary was momentarily stunned, then after a long pase, she answered, “Mrs. Gomez, I’m only responsible for applying the ointment. I can’t make decisions about other matters.”
“Get Peter!” Abigail shouted angrily. ““Tell Peter to come!
“Please wait a moment!” Mary hurried off.
Abigail leaned against the wall, her head throbbing faintly. She squeezed her eyes shut, feeling a tinge of pain
Had she just taken her anger out on an innocent person? She hadn’t done anything wrong; she had simply lost control of her temper.
Since she went blind, she had noticed a marked increase in her irritability. It was probably due to the fear of the unknown
Peter quickly came upstairs. “Mrs. Gomez, what’s wrong?”
“I want to leave. Arrange for someone to take me away,” she said calmly,
He hesitated “Mrs. Gomes, I can’t do that. Mr. Gomez said you’ll be staying here from now on.‘
“He doesn’t call the shots!” she suddenly shouted “Why is he locking me up? I want to leave now! You’re not taking me? Fine. I’ll leave on my own!”
She shoved Peter aside and hurried toward the dour. But due to her blindness, she stumbled and fell to the floor.
“Mrs. Gomez!” Peter and Mary cried out in alarm and rushed to help her
Eric came out of the study, his face dark, and he picked Abigall up off the floor.
“What are you fussing about now? Can’t you behave for once?” He scolded, turning and carrying her back into the room.
“What do you think you’re doing?” she grabbed his collar with both hands, her eyes red, growling, “Who gave you the right to lock me up here? Are you trying to take away my freedom too?”
He frowned and laid her on the bed. “Did I not tell you? You’re not leaving here until your eyes are healed. How do you expect to live our there in this
“Why should you care about things that don’t concern you?”
Eric added, “We’re not officially divorced yet. You’re still my wife, Abigail. If people see you like this, I’ll be called a heartless man.
