Chapter 47
“Madam Gomez, are you here because of Ms. Bred?” Nicole asked deliberately.⠀
Lucy frowned. “Ms. Reed? Who is that?”
Nicole was surprised, then reminded her, “Ms. Reed is Mr. Gomez’s wife..”
Lucy suddenly remembered Eric’s wide–Abilgall Rood.
When Derrick had arranged their marriage, she had strongly opposed it, even throwing a tantrum at Chance to get him to oppose
to oppose it as well
But Chanse had shown no interest in the matter and had simply followed Derrick’s wishes. In the end, Eric had married Abigail as Derrick had instructed
She had never liked this daughter–in–law who had climbed her way into the Gomez family. Later, when she and Chanse went abroad, they had little contact with Abigail, and Lucy had nearly forgotten her.
Now that she had just arged with Eric, hearing Abigail’s came only worsened her mood.
“What’s wrong with her?” she asked coldly,
“You don’t know? She has a problem with her eyes and is temporarily blind. Mr. Gomez is busy looking for a comes for her,” Nicole explained.
“She’s blind?”
Lucy’s
‘s eyes narrowed sharply.
The sunset was beautiful. The cool breeze blew, making for a perfect temperature.
Although Abigail couldn’t see, Nancy wanted to take her for a walk in the garden to enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
She took Abigail’s hand as they walked along, asking with a smile, “How does it feel? Isn’t the breeze nice?
Abigail smiled. “Yes. It’s very comfortable. It feels soft when it brushes against my sidn, and the air smells like flowers.”
The scent of grass and soil was also so clean and warm
Previously, Abigail bad stayed locked in her room, and Mary was too hesitant to approach her, let alone take her for a walk.
But after Nancy arrived, Abigail’s mood had settled considerably.
“I’m glad you like it,” Mancy said, smiling. “Tübring you out for walls every evening from now on.”
Suddenly, voices from the entrance could be heard. Nancy saw Peter hurrying mward them and curiously looked over.
Lucy walked in and immediately spotted the two figures in the garden.
“Who’s that?” she asked coldy.
Peter replied. “That’s Mrs. Gomez and Nancy. She is calding Mrs. Gomez for a walk. Madan Gomez, you’re back fur..!!
“She’s Abigail, right?” Lucy suddenly smiled. “I haven’t seen her in a while. I’ll go over and take a look.”
With that, she walked straight toward Abigail.
“Madam Gomez. Peter wanted to stop her but didn’t dare, so he hurried after bec.
Everyone in the Gomez family knew Lucy was deeply dissatisfied with Abigail and had never reared her well. He was worried about a confrontation between them and quickly instructed Mary to call Eric.
“So you really can’t see, huh? I thought you were just pretending,” Lucy said, looking at Abigail’s unfocused eyes with casual indifference.
Nancy maintained a calm expression and greeted her, “Hello, Madam Gomez,”
Lucy glanced at her, sneering, “Derrick actually sent you to take care of her. He must value her, huh?”
Abigail’s hand slowly clenched into a fist
Lucy’s voice was sharp and piercing, and when she was angry, it sounded rather barsh. Abigail remembered it clearly.
