Chapter 92
The man cursed when he was kicked and started shouting. “What does this have to do with you, kid? Get out now!”
After Ryan suffered another kick, he gritted his teeth and started fighting the man.
Although the man had the advantage in his van, Ryan was too persistent. Seeing how he couldn’t win Ryan in the fight and that their entities were about to be exposed, he decided to push Abigail off the vehicle.
“Abby!”
Ryan’s pupils constricted, and he hurriedly wrapped his arms around her as they tell out of the van together.
Since the van was going fast, they both rolled on the road for a long time after they got out. In order to keep Abigail safe, Ryan did his best to protect her. However, it was inevitable that she would get a few scratches on her.
When they finally stopped rolling, Abigail was resting on Ryan’s body. They had rolled on the ground so much that they were in a daze
After Ryan slowly returned to his senses, he hurriedly helped Abigail to get up.
“Are you alright, Abby? Are you hurt?”
Abigail shook her head. “I’m fine. What about you? Are you hurt?”
She knew Ryan had been protecting her the whole time earlier. If he hadn’t arrived in the nick of time, she would’ve been taken away at that moment already.
“I’m fine. Don’t worry…”
When Abigail accidentally touched a part of his body, he immediately winced.
“Are you hurt?” she asked when she felt something warm and sticky. Although she couldn’t see a thing, she knew that it had to be blood. Ryan was hurt. “I’m fine. It’s just a scratch. I’m just glad that you’re okay,” he said without a care for his injuries.
Abigail suddenly became teary, and she couldn’t help hugging him. Ryan was stunned for a second. Then, he patted her on her back while comforting her, “I’m really fine. After all, it’s normal to bleed a little when you’re scratched, right? You’re just thinking it’s serious because you can’t see it. It’s really not that bad.”
“Thank you,” she said softly. “It feels like you’re always there when I need you the most.” It was the same when she was in the operating room previously.
Ryan smiled a little when he heard that. Just as he was about to say something back to her, they suddenly heard a cold voice interrupting them. “What are you two doing?”
Eric walked hurriedly to them and got Abigail out of Ryan’s embrace with a single pull. Ryan frowned when he noticed how rough Eric was being “Hey, be gentle! She might be hurt!”
Abigail almost fell when she was pulled aside, and she said furiously, “What are you doing, Eric?”
“What am I doing?” Eric scoffed. “I should be the one asking you two that question!”
He pulled Abigail behind him and glared at Ryan next. “Didn’t I give you a warning before? Why are you being so persistent like a fly? Do you really like what belongs to me that much?”
“If it weren’t for me, Abby would’ve been taken away by now! Is this how you take care of her?” Ryan sald coldly.
“Shut up! Who do you think you are, calling her Abby? You’re not worthy of calling her that! When you signed the operation papers on your own decent last time, I decided to let it go because you saved her…”
“You decided to let it go, huh? Are you even worthy enough to say something like that?” Ryan scoffed. “If you didn’t leave her during her operation, t wouldn’t even have to sign the papers for you!”
Although Ryan was just telling the truth, Eric was still infuriated after hearing it. The latter became even more fulous when he remembered how Ryan was hugging Abigail earlier. At that moment, Eric couldn’t hold it back anymore, and he punched Ryan right in the lace
