Chapter 4
Celeste placed her hand on Antonio’s chest, seemingly trying to calm his anger. “Forget it, Antonio. Grace is just jealous that I’m the one you love. She’s my bestie, and I won’t hold it against her.”
He held her hand, feeling bad for her. “You’re so kind. That’s why she always gets to pick on you.”
Grace suddenly felt suffocating.
She smiled bitterly, “Really? Antonio, I’ve been picking on her? Don’t you think it’s the other way around?”
Antonio’s voice was devoid of any warmth. “Even if Celeste does something, it’s because you go too far. She’s just making things right for herself.”
He wouldn’t believe a word Grace said.
She felt utterly exhausted.
After saying this, he stroked Celeste’s cheek, his eyes filled with affection. “Celeste, go back and pack up. I’ll take you to Lopron for vacation.”
Celeste’s eyes sparkled. “What about your work?”
“It’s nothing compared to you.”
“Antonio, you’re the best!”
They were so affectionate and seemed oblivious to everyone

Then Antonio left while holding Celeste, not even shooting Grace a glance.
His bodyguards roughly took the shopping bags from Grace’s hands.
He really took Celeste to Lopron.
However, Grace felt a sense of relief.
Finally, she could have a moment of peace.
But right after a few days, Antonio’s assistant came to her with a troubled expression.
“Mrs. Parrish, Mr. Kaufman and Ms. Porter are photographed when they’re in Lopron. Mr. Kaufman’s affair is all over the news right now. The company’s stock price has been affected, and the shareholders are making a scene.”
Ever since marrying Antonio, Grace had joined the Kaufman family’s company.
Antonio was the general manager, and she was the vice president, handling all his responsibilities.
She managed the company, while he earned loads of money by spending his days enjoying life and his time with Celeste.
Hearing Antonio’s assistant’s words, Grace rubbed the bridge of her nose wearily.
“Does Antonio know?” she asked.
“He’s on his way and will be back within an hour. He wants

you to hold a press conference to clarify things. He’ll be there right after he arrives.”
Grace then asked, “Are the reporters ready?”
Antonio’s assistant nodded. “Yes. They’re at the hotel already.”
So, Antonio had already arranged for everything. His assistant was simply here to inform her.
“Let’s go to the hotel.”
She went to the hotel with his assistant.
The second the reporters saw her, they bombarded her with questions eagerly. “Mrs. Kaufman, do you know about Mr. Kaufman’s affair? It’s said he’s involved with your bestie back in college. Is it true?”
“Will this affect your marriage? If you have a divorce, will you keep working at the Kaufman Group?”
As the vice president, Grace was used to dealing with crises.
She calmly adjusted the microphone in front of her. “Antonio and I are deep in love. Ms. Porter is my close friend. She’s been feeling down lately, and Antonio took her on a trip at my request.”
Yet the reporters ignored her response and went on to ask the question they had been wanting to ask. “You already knew about the affair, right? You’ve been helping them cover it up just so that you can continue to be Mr. Kaufman’s wife and the vice president of the Kaufman Group.”
Grace’s heart skipped a beat. Indeed, she knew about it. She

even saw them in bed together.

But when dealing with the reporters, she had to pretend that Antonio and she were a couple in love.
“There’s no affair at all. He doesn’t have a mistress. Please don’t make malicious speculations.”
In the next second, the door to the hall opened.
Antonio walked in while surrounded by his bodyguards.
“Mr. Kaufman, is Mrs. Kaufman telling the truth? Are you involved with Ms. Porter?”
Antonio sat down next to Grace, not even glancing at her this whole time.
He spoke slowly, “I wanted to keep it between us at first. After all, it’s our private matters.
“But the fact is, my relationship with Grace has been falling apart. When I found her with another man in our bed, there was no going back.”
