“Your date threatened to kill you, and his
secretary trashed your car? This can’t be real!”
I sighed. “He doesn’t know who I am. He
doesn’t know I’m his date.”
“Forget it. I had the car towed. Can you do me
a favor? Check this Garrison out…”
I hung up, remembering what happened. I
almost laughed again.
I’ve been out of town for years, working my butt
off.
My parents practically dragged me back here
for this date.
<
When I told my friend about it, she insisted I
take a car from her company, as an
advertisement.
And on the way home, I ran into Garrison.
He didn’t know me, but I knew him.
My parents said he was sweet, considerate, handsome.
I saw his picture. He was cute.
But after that little scene, I knew Garrison wasn’t the sweet guy my parents thought he
was.
I was driving, minding my own business. Susan was flirting with Garrison, acting like they were a couple. I frowned.
Susan saw me staring and flipped me off.
<
I tried to ignore it, but she cut me off, causing a
minor collision.
Then she got out, screaming and grabbed a
brick.
Garrison just sat there, like it was normal.
He must be used to getting his way.
And he wanted to marry me?
Dream on, buddy!
I wondered what Garrison and Susan would do
when they found out who I was?

I pulled up to my house and saw Garrison’s car parked right in front.
Susan was sitting in the car, smoking. She
く
stared at me when she saw me.
Then she hopped out of the car, snarling, “You
followed us, you bitch? You’ve got some
nerve!”
“I’ve seen your type before. You think I was
kidding?”
“You think I won’t kill you?”
She stormed over to me, ready to slap me.
I couldn’t let her push me around in front of my
house.
