Chapter 13 Call Her Out
Roselyn was waiting for Guadalupe at the driving range.
Roselyn looked energetic and alluring in a light–yellow golf dress and with long curly hair.
She looked Guadalupe up and down and said with dissatisfaction, “Your outfit isn’t conservative enough.”
Guadalupe smiled. “I’m here for a job.”
She didn’t think there was anything wrong with her outfit. She was wearing sportswear and light make–up, her hair in a ponytail. Overall, she looked lively and decent.
“Honey, men are visual.”
“If Ezequiel just wanted a beauty to be his secretary, the post wouldn’t be
vacant now.
“You can be both beautiful and capable.” Roselyn gave Guadalupe a playful stab. “Luckily, I brought an extra outfit with me. Our size is pretty much the same. I’ll lend it to you.”
Then, Roselyn dragged Guadalupe to the locker room and made her get changed.
Guadalupe relied on Roselyn to introduce her to Ezequiel, so Guadalupe could only do as Roselyn said.
When Guadalupe was done, she turned into a sexy girl.
The white fitted sleeveless top and the short black pleated skirt brought
out her big boobs, slender waist, round butt, and shapely legs. No man could take their eyes away from her.
“Oh my.” Roselyn covered her mouth dramatically. “I didn’t know you had such a curvy figure. It’s Desmond’s loss. Speaking of which, what did he see in Belinda?”
Guadalupe ignored those words about Desmond and Belinda.
With a worried face, Guadalupe looked in the mirror and wondered if Ezequiel would think she was seducing him.
“Roselyn, I think…”
“Shush.” Roselyn placed her index finger over her lips and answered a phone call. “Mr. Pierce, you and Mr. Hodge are there already? OK. We’re on our way.”
Guadalupe didn’t try to mention that she wanted to change back.
They went to meet with Felipe Pierce.
On the way there, Guadalupe asked. “Roselyn, have you met Ezequiel?”
“I met him once. At 6, I went to the Hodge’s place with my parents to celebrate the New Year. Ezequiel was a kid too. He was chubby and had fair skin. Very cute. But he went abroad at about 10. After that, I barely got news about him.”
“I see…
Roselyn’s description of Ezequiel reminded Guadalupe of burrata cheese.
The golf cart took a turn, and a large lawn came into view.
In the distance, there was a lake and a forest. In the vicinity, there were two men in sportswear talking.

When Guadalupe saw one of them, her eyes went round.
The man in a dark blue top and light tan pants was Felipe.
Besides Felipe, there was a taller man in a white outfit. He was dashing, having broad shoulders and a slender waist. When he turned sideways, the sun shone on his angular jaw and emphasized his gorgeous profile.
Guadalupe was caught off guard.
She had met Felipe, so the man beside him must be Ezequiel.
“Ezequiel!” Roselyn called his name with excitement.
“My goodness, he’s totally different now. He’s tall and handsome! I’m gonna drool all over him.”
“I’m toast!”
“Did you fall for Ezequiel at first sight too?”
Guadalupe didn’t know how to answer.
She revealed a wry face.
Soon, the golf cart stopped, and the two men noticed them.
Felipe waved at them with a smile. Then, his eyes dropped on Guadalupe
in amazement.
Ezequiel’s eyes flickered with a trace of surprise. Then, it was replaced by indifference.
Roselyn took Guadalupe over.
Despite a slim chance, Guadalupe still wanted to try and get the job. After all, she was there already.
“Mr. Pierce, Mr. Hodge.” Roselyn greeted them warmly.
Then, she introduced Guadalupe to Ezequiel. “This is Guadalupe Melton, my good friend. She’s here to watch Mr. Hodge play.”
Guadalupe was nervous, but she still put on a perfect smile.
Felipe teased, “Ms. Melton, I was wondering why you would come. You even dolled yourself up. It turns out you came for Mr. Hodge. How ambitious.”
Guadalupe ignored Felipe’s comment and greeted him. Then, she turned to Ezequiel and said in a serious tone, “Mr. Hodge, nice to meet you.”
After saying that, she realized that something was wrong.
But she had just blurted it out. She wondered what she should do next.
“Nice to meet me?”
Ezequiel’s cold eyes dropped on her face.
Guadalupe looked poised, but she was panicking on the inside. She pretended not to understand and smiled more broadly. “I’m really glad to see you.”
Then, she put on an imploring look and prayed with nervousness that Ezequiel didn’t call her out.
Ezequiel seemed to get the message, his face creasing into a smile. “Your do look glad.”
His voice sounded husky and indulgent.
Felipe and Roselyn were surprised that Guadalupe had succeeded already.
Roselyn even darted a look at Guadalupe, feeling good about her decision
to make Guadalupe get changed.
Guadalupe thought while feeling upset, “That’s mockery, all right?”
Then, the four of them began playing golf.
Ezequiel was a good golfer, as was Felipe. Guadalupe and Roselyn played too, but most of the time, they were just cheering the men on.
After a round, they went to the shade for a rest.
Roselyn pestered Felipe to pick a new golf club in the shop so that Guadalupe would have alone time with Ezequiel.
Right after Ezequiel sat down, Guadalupe opened a bottle of water and handed it over.
Ezequiel stared at it for seconds and took it.
However, he put the water on the table and didn’t drink it.
Guadalupe thought with disappointment. “No chance?”
“You did so many things to meet me. Is it just for my measurements?” Ezequiel took out a wet wipe and wiped the sweat off his forehead with
grace.
He sounded casual, but Guadalupe read the irony in his voice.
She didn’t know how to respond.
Thus, she pursed her lips and thought for a while. “I didn’t mean to suggest I had never met you. It was a slip of the tongue. And I asked Miguel about your measurements because I stained your suit by accident and wanted to buy you a new one.
“As for why I want to see you, I heard you are hiring a secretary.”

She sounded more respectful when she said the last sentence, which made her intention clear.
Ezequiel put down the wet wipe and cut to the chase. “You’re not a good fit.”
Then, he walked to the forest.
Guadalupe couldn’t take such a flat refusal, so she followed him bitterly.
Meanwhile, Desmond and Belinda passed by them in a golf cart.
Staring at the sexy back, Desmond frowned.
