Chapter 17 Meet at Serendipity Hotel
Guadalupe looked at the message.
Miguel: “Ms. Melton, I’ll accompany Mr. Hodge to meet a client at Serendipity Hotel this Friday. Maybe you can deliver the suit over at that time.”
Guadalupe was really confused now.
She exclaimed in her heart, “Ezequiel wants to meet me now? In a hotel? A remote hotel that is a perfect place to dump one’s body? What does he want?”
Guadalupe didn’t dare to think about it.
She wasn’t a coward and really wanted to seize this opportunity. However, she really didn’t know what was on Ezequiel’s mind. She only intended to focus on her career. She didn’t wanna get involved in some troublesome matters.
After pondering for a moment, she decided to pretend not to have seen this message for the moment.
In the garage downstairs…
Miguel signed and put his phone back into his pocket.
Although Ezequiel said there was no need, Miguel still thought that it wasn’t Ezequiel’s true thought. Miguel had heard from Gilbert that Guadalupe had volunteered to get this job, so he thought there might be some
misunderstanding between Ezequiel and Guadalupe.

Therefore, Miguel believed that Ezequiel and Guadalupe needed a good talk face to face.
However, Guadalupe also began to turn a cold shoulder on this matter.
Bentley drove out of the residential area, passing a Ferrari.
Desmond pulled over at the roadside outside Primrose Heights.
Guadalupe didn’t answer his call, nor did she reply to his messages, which made him so irritated.
Soon, his man sent a list of house owners of Primrose Heights.
He saw Guadalupe’s name on it. But what shocked him the most was that the top–floor resident of the same building was Ezequiel, the one from the Hodge family.
Desmond had heard about the news of Ezequiel coming back from abroad.
The Hodge family had always been low–key in Freyburgh, and the Hodges rarely showed up in front of the public. He didn’t have common social friends with Ezequiel, but he had met Ezequiel several times. It was when Desmond was fifteen years old. At someone else’s banquet, Desmond saw Equiel, who looked so aloof and graceful.
Guadalupe bought an apartment here without letting Desmond know and became Ezequiel’s neighbor.
Was it a coincidence?
Somehow, Desmond couldn’t help but recall the scene he saw on the golf course.

Two hours later, Guadalupe drove out of Primrose Heights. But when she saw the familiar Ferrari on the roadside, she
abruptly stepped on the brakes.
Desmond was smoking.
Through the white smoke, Guadalupe could see the terrifying look on Desmond’s face.
Guadalupe’s mind began to whir.
Before she drove to Desmond, she had already thought of a plan.
She got out of her car, opened the passenger seat door of Desmond’s Ferrari, and sat in. Then, she asked in a cold voice, “Why are you here? Following me?
Desmond picked up the phone placed on the dashboard with his cigarette–holding hand and threw it onto her lap, saying coldly, “Explain.”
Guadalupe picked up the phone and saw a list of the house owners in Primrose Heights.
She gave Desmond back his phone and said calmly, “I’ve been working for years and have some savings. What’s wrony with me buying an apartment with my money? I didn’t spend a single penny of yours anyway.”
Desmond’s gaze was sharp as he snapped, “Guadalupe, don’t play tricks. This isn’t about money? Why did you buy an apartment here? Why did you hide it from me?”
“don’t think it’s necessary to tell you. I want something that
solely belongs to me. I want my own house. Is that a problem?”

Back then, the Harrison family thought that Guadalupe married Desmond for his money, so they forced her to sign a prenuptial agreement.
Guadalupe’s reply made Desmond laugh with anger. He asked her, “I’ve never been petty to you, have I? Every set of jewelry I gave you is much more expensive than an apartment.”
Guadalupe remained silent.
Desmond then took out his wallet, pulled out his cards, and threw them at her, snapping, “You like buying houses? Take them and buy as many as you want. Write your name on the property ownership certificate.”
Guadalupe chuckled, “You’re quite generous, Mr. Harrison.”
Perhaps, for the sake of money, she could choose to continue to bear his betrayal and become a heartless gold digger.
That wasn’t a bad idea, was it?
However, she just didn’t wanna live like that.
She picked up Desmond’s wallet and put his cards back into it, saying lightly, “I don’t have that kind of idea for now. When I have, I’ll ask for some money from you.”
She then put the wallet on his lap. Just as she withdrew her hand, Desmond grabbed it and looked at her, asking, “You don’t trust me anymore?”
Guadalupe sneered in her heart, “He didn’t realize it until just now?”

She found Desmond was really despicable yet a bit cute. She gave him a bright smile and said casually, “Does it matter? Just do whatever you want like always.”
Then, she withdrew her hand from his grip.
Just at this time, her phone rang.
Guadalupe froze for a moment. She thought it was Miguel calling as she still hadn’t replied to his message.
Desmond noticed Guadalupe’s nervousness, and his eyes became sharp again. “I know you ignored my calls. But it seems like I’m not the only one who gets that treatment from you.”
Having no other choice, Guadalupe could only take out her phone.
Fortunately, it was a call from Elyse.
When Desmond saw this, his gaze softened a bit, and he said. to Guadalupe, “Take it.”
There were only a few days left. So Guadalupe guessed that Elyse called to ensure that she didn’t change her mind.
She picked up the phone and said first, “I’m with Desmond now. Wanna say hi to him?”
Hearing Guadalupe’s words, Elyse immediately changed her words and said, “No need. Just wanna ask you about the bag you had a liking for last time. Do you still want it?”
“Of course, yes. My bags have been sent for maintenance. I happen to need one.”

“OK. Then take it.”
“Thanks.”
Then, the phone was hung up.
Desmond was confused, asking, “Since when did you two become good friends?”
Guadalupe asked back, “Isn’t this a good thing? Or do you wish your mom and I have a fight every day?”
Desmond suddenly didn’t know what to say.
Guadalupe liked to ask back, blurring the point.
But anyway, Desmond’s anger subsided a lot. When she was viewing that list just now, he was observing her. He found that she didn’t especially look at Ezequiel’s name, and her following reactions were around him knowing she had bought an apartment herself. So, he thought maybe she just
coincidently bought an apartment in the same building as Ezequiel’s.
He thought she was throwing a temper at him by secretly doing something out of his control.
She thought buying an apartment could bring her a sense of achievement.
But to him, it wasn’t a big deal.
After thinking this through, he started the engine and said to her, “I’ll send you back.”
“But my car is still there…”

“I’ll have someone send it back.”
With that, Desmond locked the car door and drove away directly.
Guadalupe had been very cautious in the next few days.
She hadn’t even walked out of the house.
Meanwhile, she was wondering what reactions Desmond might have when he found out that she had already divorced him.
He would definitely be furious when he found out about it.
Guadalupe didn’t wanna face his fury directly. So, she was planning on a trip, wanting to give him some time to cool. down.
If things went as she had imagined, Desmond would completely let her go. After all, his beloved Belinda was dying to marry him. Thus, Guadalupe’s leave should be something Desmond desired.
“One more thing,” Taniyah reminded Guadalupe on the
phone. “It’s about your mother–in–law. You must be careful. She’s been secretly doing something recently. I’m afraid she’ll do something to you.”
“Don’t worry. She’s worried that I might change my mind, so she won’t do anything to me before Desmond and I get the divorce certificate,” Guadalupe said firmly.
She guessed that Elyse was probably spreading the word about her breakup with Desmond as well as the news of the upcoming marriage between the Harrison family and the
Graham family.

On Friday afternoon, when she booked a flight to Esmington, Elyse called her.
Her last call was three days ago.
Guadalupe knew that Elyse definitely wanted to tell her something, but she didn’t take the initiative to call Elyse these. days.
Guadalupe answered the call. “Hello, Madam Harrison.”
“Let’s meet somewhere. There’s an updated agreement you need to sign.”
“You should contact my lawyer for that.”
“Guadalupe, your request went up from 150 million dollars to 250 million dollars. Now I only ask you to come to sign an agreement. Don’t put on airs. No matter what, you must come in person today. I’ll be waiting at Serendipity Hotel. They don’t have many customers, and it’s not easy for our matters to be discovered.”
Guadalupe repeated that hotel’s name in her heart, “Serendipity Hotel?”
She thought of Miguel’s text.
“Ezequiel is also at Serendipity Hotel today. Is this a coincidence?” Guadalupe wondered.
