The guests went on whispering with one another.

As Belinda watched Guadalupe walk toward her, her face. turned pale, as if looking at a ghost.
Elyse was a little panicked.
Desmond was more panicked and he was about to walk over.
“Please don’t go.” Belinda hugged his arm and wouldn’t let him go. She was anxious and ignored the occasion. She shouted at Guadalupe in a tone as if she was already married to Desmond. “Des and I are engaged and we’ll soon be married. You should let him go…”

So, he lowered his voice and urged her to keep quiet. Then, he pulled her hands away with a cold face.

When the Grahams heard the word “mistress“, they went furious instantly.
What did she mean by that?
She was obviously accusing Belinda of being a mistress and a home wrecker! This was a direct provocation!
The guests were all stunned. How dare she accuse Belinda like that? What made her so confident?
Belinda was so mad that her face contorted. “Guadalupe, you’re so shameless! I’m going to be Desmond’s wife soon and we are engaged! I’m no mistress!”
“Shut up!” Desmond shouted.
Elyse also trotted over and hugged her. “Linda, don’t be mad. There’s no point arguing with such a woman, OK?”
Guadalupe said generously, “Don’t stop her. Let her speak.”
“Guadalupe, if you dare to say some nonsense, you won’t get a dime from the breakup!” Elyse was worried that she might blurt out about their secret marriage, thus threatening her.
But then, she remembered forcing her to sign that agreement last night.
Her heart skipped a beat.
Desmond’s eyes turned sharp. “What are you talking about?”

She said slowly and her tone was gentle.
For a moment Caleb was charmed by her smile, but then he realized that it was absurd. This woman was simply
unreasonable and domineering!
Others also thought Guadalupe had gone mad.
Belinda was so mad that she burst into laughter and
stammered incoherently, “What did you just say? Are you out
of your mind?”

She put down her wine glass and pulled out a marriage certificate from her purse. She showed it to Belinda and asked, “Now, tell me. Should you show some respect to me?”
Belinda stared at the certificate and was completely stunned.
The ballroom fell into a dead silence.
Desmond and Guadalupe were married already!
They thought Guadalupe was here making a scene for more breakup fees. It turned out that she was Desmond’s wife and came to save her marriage!

Elyse tried to explain herself in a hurry and kept comforting and apologizing to them.
Desmond pressed his hands against his throbbing temples and had given up on doing anything now.
He simply wanted this farce to be over soon.
Guadalupe went to pick up another glass of wine and then came in front of Desmond. She looked at him quietly. They spent their youth together, got married… And then, they had gotten into such an awful state.

Desmond grabbed her wrist tightly which was holding the wine glass, his face ashen. “Do you have to do this?”
His grip was strong and tore her wound on the wrist, just like how he had torn her heart over time. Anger and sorrow filled her bloodshot eyes and she said, “Let’s get a divorce.”
She struggled out of his grasp and threw the empty glass at his feet. “I imprisoned myself with a scumbag like you!”
Desmond was shocked by her fury.
He was about to say something, but then he noticed the red stain on his palm. He opened his hand and realized it was covered in blood.

The scene left everyone in shock.
The Grahams were about to leave. But as the room fell silent and everyone had their attention on Guadalupe and
Desmond, Belinda suddenly walked toward Guadalupe and pushed her to the ground.
