Chapter 12
A piercing scream ripped through the night, blood splattering everywhere.”
Slash after slash, the blade carved bright red roses into her face.”
It didn’t stop until Lena’s entire face was a bloody, mangled mess.
Only then did the bodyguard finally release her.“>
She crumpled to her knees, pain wracking her body, her trembling hands flying to her ruined face–just to jerk away in horror. “My face! My face!“}
Her friends, frozen with fear, collapsed against the wall, shaking uncontrollably as they tried to disappear into the shadows.”
Alan’s cold gaze landed on them, his voice low and chilling, like the devil himself. “Them, too.”
Their faces drained of color. Terrified, they started pointing fingers at Lena, desperate to save themselves.
“Mr Clark, it wasn’t us!”
“Yeah, it was all Lena’s idea!”
“We didn’t do anything!”
If this were before, Lena would’ve slapped them silly for betraying her. Now, all she could do was writhe on the floor, crushed by pain and humiliation. Alan’s eyes grew even colder. The bodyguard moved in, dragging the rest of them forward.”
The knife flashed again and again–dozens of savage cuts, their screams rising and falling, echoing through the house.”
The whole villa reeked of blood, the stench so thick it made people gag.”
When the doctor finally arrived, Alan gently lifted Summer’s limp body, handing her over with a tense urgency. “Take her upstairs. Do whatever it takes.” Only then did Alan turn back, his steps slow and deliberate as he walked toward Lena. He crouched down in front of her, his shadow falling over her broken form. “Wh–why…” she choked out, barely able to speak./
Alan let out a short, cold laugh. “Why?“%
He leaned in, his voice razor–sharp. “You touched my wife.“”
Lena’s eyes went wide, her lips trembling. “Y–your wife?”
He was married? That woman was really his wife?%
Fear clawed at her chest, and she scrambled backwards, but Alan’s hand shot out, closing around her throat.
“I thought you’d know your place,” he said, voice colder than ice. “But you dared lay a hand on what’s mine. Lena, do you think you have more than one life to waste?“2
She shook even harder, tears streaming down her face. “P–please, Alan… I-“A
“Shut up!” His grip only tightened, fingers digging in like he meant to end her right there.”
Lena gasped, her other hand clutching her stomach as pain stabbed through her.”
She looked up at him, her face streaked with tears, voice desperate: “Please, Mr. Clark, for the sake of our child–please, let me live…”
Alan’s expression turned even darker at the mention of the baby.%
“Our child?“%
He sneered “When did I ever say it was ours?”
Lena’s face went ashen, her body frozen. “W-what do you mean?”
When Alan first came to her, all he’d said was he needed her to have a child for him–nothing else. She’d been blinded by his promise of wealth, certain that having his baby would let her marry into a life of luxury.%
But now, his words filled her with dread
Alan leaned close to her ear, his words slow and merciless. “This child is mine and Summer’s. You? You were just a tool.”
Lena’s mind went blank, her dreams shattering
Alan grabbed her chin, his eyes full of scorn
“You know why I chose you?” he asked. “Because you look like Summer I wanted a child who’d look like her:
