When Linda entered, Zoey asked, “Could you help me with my phone! I need to accept a friend request from my roommate. Linda tapped the screen a couple of times, adding Abigail to Zoey’s contacts.
“Thanks” Zoey said with a smile. She’d been added to a small group chat with three other people. Somehow, though. someone accidentally added her to the class group chat as well. Without a name tag on her account, no one in the group knew who she was
The group chat was buzzing with chatter. [Did you guys hear? Someone in our class didn’t show up for registration or go to freshman camp, and the school didn’t even expel her.]

Zoey had already turned off her phone, so she was completely unaware of the gossip going on about her.
After the surgery, Zoey was cleared to leave the hospital early, Jack drove her to the Noble Garden Complex near the school. Linda held Zoey’s hand as they walked upstairs and entered the apartment. Ms. Miller, this is Room 1314, Building 5, Kack said before leaving.
“Got it,” Zoey said with a nod as she settled into the soft couch
Linda added, “Ma’am, I live right next door. If you need anything, just let me know,”
“Linda, how many rooms are there in this house?” Zoey asked:
“There are four in total: a master bedroom, a secondary bedroom, a study, and a nursery,” Linda replied.
Zoey thought for a moment and said, “Tll take the secondary bedroom for now.”
“You’re not staying with Mr. Gordon?” Linda asked, a bit surprise.

Zoey’s face flushed red immediately. She’d never lived with a man before. She hadn’t even kissed or hugged anyone yet, let alone shared a room together. The thought of sharing a room with her husband, though her husband in name, made her feel a little awkward.
“Tll take you to the secondary bedroom, then, Linda said, guiding Zoey gently by the arm. Knowing Zoey had trouble seeing, Isabella had made sure all the extra furniture was cleared out of the apartment beforehand.
Any sharp corners on tables and chairs had been covered with protective padding, just in case Zoey bumped into anything.
Soon after, Linda prepared lunch for Zoey, Once Zoey finished eating, Linda brought her a warm glass of goat’s milk. “Mr. Gordon specifically requested this to help you with your nutrition”
Goat’s milk was more nutritious than cow’s, Zoey had grown up poor conditions, often lacking proper nutrition, so she needed to build up her strength.
