Chapter 1
I caught my husband and his mistress had sex in our wedding room.
Everyone knew that Marques Cruz had once loved me more than anything -that he would’ve laid down his life for me.
When I was pregnant, because of my rare blood type, he arranged for another woman as my blood bank on standby–just in case something went wrong.
After the baby was born, he broke tradition and insisted our child take my last name.
He didn’t want me to suffer through another pregnancy, so he went ahead and got a vasectomy.
All the socialites in our circle envied me.
I thought so too.
Until that day. I decided to visit our wedding house, but the security guard halted me.
“This villa belongs to Mr. Cruz. Outsiders aren’t permitted inside.”
I smiled and said, “I’m his wife.”
To my surprise, the guard gave me a disdainful look.
“Mr. Cruz is married to Ms. Meade. Kelly Meade. And who might you be? If you’re going to pretend, at least get your facts straight.”
I froze, my entire body stiff with disbelief.
Chapter 1
Kelly Meade. She was the living blood bank Marques had found for me.
I took out my marriage certificate and tried to explain calmly.
“I truly am Marques’s wife. Here’s our marriage certificate.”
The guard didn’t even bother to look at it. He simply discarded it.
“Don’t try to trick me with a forgery. Mr. Cruz and Ms. Meade are the ones who live here. How could I not know that?
“Get lost, get lost. If you don’t leave now, I’ll have to force you out.”
They lived here.
The blood in my veins turned cold as I looked in shock toward our home.
Marques had devoted two years to designing every aspect of this wedding house to suit my tastes perfectly.
However, shortly after we tied the knot, an accident occurred during my mother’s visit.
Worried that the house would evoke painful memories for me, Marques decided to purchase a new place, and we moved.
Yet, I never thought it would turn into a home for him and someone else…
How could that even happen?
His love for me was undeniable–more predictable than the sunrise in the
cast.
A wave of surreal disbelief washed over me.
Chapter 1
I picked up the marriage certificate from the floor and walked away in at
haze.
Once inside the car, my phone buzzed twice. It was a message from Marques.
“Honey, I miss you a lot. Was the baby well–behaved today? He didn’t fuss too much, did he?”
“I’ll wrap up work and come home early to be with you both. I’ll bring your favorite red velvet cake, alright?”
“Honey, just the thought of you and the baby fills me with joy. Thank you.”
As I gazed at the messages, it felt like a giant hand was squeezing my chest, making it difficult to breathe.
Tears streamed down my face

He remembered all my preferences. My favorite foods, the perfume I loved, and even the items I was allergic to and couldn’t consume.
He had remembered them all clearly.
He made sure to come home by seven every evening to have dinner with me so I wouldn’t feel alone.
He personally prepared my favorite meals, taking care of my sensitive stomach.
And when I was pregnant, he searched the country to set up a living blood bank for me.
Chapter 1
That person was Kelly, who was still in college then.
Once the baby arrived, Marques informed me that he had sent her
away.
Almost a year had passed. How could she still be living in the house we once shared as a married couple?
I wiped away my tears and visited the company to speak with Marques.
We had been together for so long. I couldn’t let a guard’s comments make me doubt him.
Perhaps… the guard was mistaken.
The secretary politely escorted me to the office door at the company.
“Mr. Cruz, Mrs. Cruz has arrived.”
Once the secretary departed, I opened the door and stepped inside. Marques was seated at his desk, sitting upright.
His face lit up with a smile when he saw me.
“Honey, it’s rare you visit me at work. Did you miss me?
“I told you I would leave work early so I could spend time with you at home.”
Instead of standing up to welcome me, he gestured toward the computer and said, “I’m in a meeting, honey. Would you mind sitting on the couch and waiting for a bit?”
As always, Marques’s gaze was filled with affection.
Noticing he was occupied with work, I took a seat on the couch.
Reflecting on recent events, I was unsure how to start the conversation.

Then, Marques unexpectedly emitted a quiet, stifled groan.
The room was so silent that I could hear it distinctly.
“What’s the matter?”
Marques relaxed his creased forehead and gave me a smile.
“Nothing. I just accidentally bit my tongue.”
I smiled back at him with a sense of helplessness, but my heart clenched suddenly when I glanced away.
Reflected in the glass next to us, I saw the faint image of half a woman’s face positioned between Marques’s legs.
