The moment the jewelry changed hands, Justin turned on his heel.
He snorted coldly, then walked out with an unpleasant expression. His hurried and heavy footsteps seemed to vent all his anger into the floor.
Samantha, despite her own wounded pride, quickly gathered herself and hurried after him in her heels.
From behind, Emelia watched Samantha’s hurried departure with growing concern.
The two–month–pregnant woman was recklessly running in high heels, showing complete disregard for her unborn child.
Then again, Emelia realized that Samantha probably saw this pregnancy merely as a tool for social climbing. How could she genuinely care about the baby?
Only after Justin and Samantha disappeared from view did Emelia turn to Joshua with a polite smile. “Thank you for your assistance, Mr. Anderson,” she daid softly.
“Consider it a return favor for your support during the auction,” Joshua replied, rubbing his nose with a faint smile.
Emelia’s brow furrowed slightly as she studied him.“Justin wields considerable influence in Atlanta. Most wouldn’t dare cross him. Your assistant addressed you as Mr. Anderson. Might you be from the Anderson Group?”
Hearing this, Joshua narrowed his eyes and fell silent.
Joshua’s eyes narrowed imperceptibly, his expression becoming unreadable. The prolonged silence felt like a quiet denial.
“Forgive my curiosity,” Emelia sighed before changing tack, her eyes lighting with interest. “I wonder if you’re interested in collaborating with the Sutton family.”
She knew the land Joshua had acquired represented tremendous potential.
