Chapter 14
Her chest heaved dramatically, her eyes filled with disappointment and mockery.“Did my feelings cross your mind even once when you paraded Samantha around everywhere?”
“Emmy, you don’t need to worry. Samantha could never come between us,” Justin leisurely spoke, with a hint of self–righteous reassurance in his tone.
Emelia found it absurd, her laughter bitter and desolate.
She stared coldly at Justin, enunciating each word with precision.“Justin, you make me sick.”
Did he actually enjoy being fawned over by two women? Was his ego so fragile that he needed constant attention to feel happy and satisfied?
Exhaustion washed over Emelia as she studied the man who had become a stranger. All their shared sweetness and trust had evaporated like the morning mist, leaving only anger and disappointment behind.
She couldn’t muster the energy for further arguments.
The evidence of his infidelity spoke for itself, and no amount of excuses could change that.
I’ll schedule a time to finalize our divorce,” Emelia stated, her voice icy and deliberate.
To her, their marriage had become beyond repair.
Justin’s face darkened instantly at her words. His normally deep eyes were now filled with gloom.
“Emmy, don’t be ridiculous! I won’t divorce you,” he declared firmly, his brow furrowed and fists clenched unconsciously.
“So you expect to enjoy our marriage while indulging in whatever thrill Samantha provides?” Emelia’s voice trembled with suppressed fury, her eyes reddening.“All these years, I never realized you could be so despicable!”
With that, she turned sharply, her heels striking the floor in angry staccato as she marched toward the guest room upstairs.
The thought of his affair with Samantha, even getting her pregnant, made Emelia’s stomach churn.
Every breath under the same roof with him now filled her with disgust.
Justin instinctively moved to follow when his phone suddenly rang from his pocket.
He paused mid–step, pulled out the device, and his expression darkened further upon seeing the caller ID. Without hesitation, he declined the call.
