Her voice trailed off, carrying a touch of pitiful charm.
“Remember your place.” Justin’s expression turned icy, his gaze sharp with warning.
His cold stare sent a jolt of fear through her. Realizing her mistake, Samantha quickly adopted an obedient tone.“Of course, Mr/Pittman. I’ll do as you
say!”
She appeared meek, but inwardly, she was calculating her next move.
She had naively believed pregnancy would secure Justin’s commitment, forcing him to divorce Emelia and marry her instead.
Yet reality proved otherwise. Justin showed no intention of leaving his wife.
But it was okay. Samantha’s mind raced as she took the black card. Her unborn child was her greatest bargaining chip. She was sure she could make Emelia walk away voluntarily!
Just then, the auction hall’s heavy door creaked open.
The groan
of the hinges cut sharply through the tense silence, drawing curious glances from the crowd.
The guests turned their heads, only to find a captivating figure–Emelia.
She wore a body–hugging red dress, its hem flowing like liquid flame with her steps, perfectly accentuating her curves.
In her 4–inch heels, she exuded confidence as she walked, her wavy hair cascading down her back, swaying with each step, adding a touch of allure.
Her makeup was sultry, her deep eyes veiled with mystery, concealing inscrutable emotions.
Her scarlet lips curved into a mysterious, mocking smile, crowning her presence with regal dominance, like a queen emerging from shadows.
Justin’s brows immediately knitted when he recognized her.
He never expected to see Emelia at this event, knowing how much she normally avoided such gatherings like the plague.
Samantha’s eyes blazed with jealousy the moment she spotted Emelia.
Emelia’s effortless beauty, confidence, and poise made Samantha feel painfully inadequate.
She subconsciously clenched her fists, thinking, “Why did Emelia have everything, a wealthy upbringing, and a husband like Justin, while I have to fight for every scrap in life?!”
