Chapter 24
She had no energy for their drama. Rhett’s condition mattered far more than this petty conflict.
“No wonder Mr. Anderson was helping Mrs. Pittman at the auction. Turns out…” Samantha murmured, her eyes narrowing with cunning.
She left the implication hanging, a smirk playing on her lips.
Justin felt a burst of uncontrollable anger at her insinuation.

She saw no need to explain her situation with Joshua to the man who had betrayed her.
Yet she couldn’t bear to see Joshua suffer unjustly because of her.
Justin studied Emelia’s puffy red eyes and exhausted face, and a strange unease came over him.
Suddenly, realization struck. “Emmy,” he demanded, “did he force you to do something?”
His hands clenched into fists as he swung at Joshua. “You bastard!” he shouted, throwing the punch with all his strength.
