Chapter 13
Zachary looked up sharply at her.
“What did you say?”
Yolanda had always been a bit scared of her older brother since they were kids. She instinctively recoiled but remained stubborn.
“Hannah’s already divorced you, and you don’t even like her. Why not be with Anna?”
“How do you know we’re divorced?”
She swallowed hard before speaking.
“You asked me to bring some medication to Hannah last time, remember?”
That was when she saw the divorce papers. At first, she thought Hannah was just bluffing. But with Hannah gone for so long, she had to believe it was real.
Zachary’s face grew darker as he listened.
There was no doubt now – Hannah had left the divorce papers not as some tantrum, but because she genuinely wanted to separate from him!
He slammed his coffee cup onto the table. Hannah loved him so much, yet she went through with the divorce. He must have been too lenient with her all these years. And without him, where could she possibly go?
“Call her and tell her to stop this nonsense and come back.”
The servant opened her mouth, looking troubled.
“We tried calling Mrs. Cole before, but we couldn’t get through.”
Zachary pulled out his phone and scrolled through his contacts, only to realize he hadn’t saved her number. His assistant had made the call last time.
After getting Hannah’s number from the servant, he dialed it. But all he heard was a mechanical voice saying, “The number you have dialed is no longer in service.”
Hannah had actually canceled her number! Staring at the dark screen, frustration and anger simmered in his
eyes.
He stood up abruptly, heading out the door, ignoring Yolanda’s startled shouts behind him. It wasn’t until he was stopped at a red light that Zachary calmed down somewhat.
Where could he find Hannah? She had no parents growing up and stayed at an orphanage supported by the Cole family.
With the honking of cars behind him, he turned and drove towards the orphanage.
Director Zade’s gaze was stern as she looked at the towering man before her. She sent the children with the other teachers before sitting down.
“Mr. Cole, please sit. What brings you here?”
Zachary wasn’t in the mood to address the cold reception; he just looked at her intently.
“I wanted to ask if you know where Hannah might have gone. She…”
He wanted to say that the house was a mess without her, but recalling who he was speaking to, he swallowe
his words.
A hint of mockery flashed in Director Zade’s eyes. Five years of marriage, and this was how he referred to Hannah?

Chapter 13
She felt a pang of sympathy for Hannah, but also relief. Relief that Hannah had repaid her debt and left him. A man like this wasn’t worth a lifetime commitment.
Director Zade didn’t even look at Zachary as she resumed her work.
“You’ve been married to Hannah for five years, and you don’t know where she might go. How would I know? Mr. Cole, please see yourself out.”
Back in his car, Zachary slammed his fist against the steering wheel.
Hannah. He had always assumed the divorce papers were just a ploy for attention. But now she had canceled her number, and no one knew her whereabouts.
He had to face the truth – she genuinely wanted to divorce him. Yet he couldn’t shake the feeling of resentment. Hannah had loved him so deeply, so why did she leave so decisively?
Just then, his phone rang. He picked up to hear Cecilia’s weak voice on the other end.
“Zachary, come home. I need to talk to you.”
