Chapter 16
Eliza suddenly remembered something and spun around to face the Madden family, “I heard that the world’s richest person has the same last name as you…”
Orson, Polly, and Dean exchanged a knowing glance, their eyes warm with affection.
Dean gently tousled her hair and said, “Eliza, we didn’t mean to keep it from you. The Madden family tends to attract attention, and though you saved us, we didn’t know much about you, so we couldn’t share our true identity. But you guessed right. We are indeed the world’s richest family.”
Eliza was stunned into silence. Who would have thought that she had randomly helped such an influential family?
She quickly stepped back, “When I helped you, I had no idea who you were. If I had known, I might not have agreed to be your goddaughter. Now that you’re home safe, I should be going.”
Just as she was about to leave, Dean caught her wrist and pulled her into a hug. “Eliza, now that we’ve gotten to know you, we can’t imagine life without you. Is it okay for you to just leave like this?”
Polly stepped forward too, “Absolutely, Eliza. No matter who we are, your place as our goddaughter remains unchanged. We cherished you before, and we’ll only do so more now!”
Eliza hesitated, “I just feel… I don’t deserve your kindness.”
She didn’t deserve such wonderful parents.
She didn’t deserve such a loving family.
Recalling what they’d learned about Eliza’s past, Orson, Polly, and Dean fell silent.
Dean took a deep breath and reassured her, “Eliza, you’re amazing. You deserve the best the world has to offer.” “Do I really deserve it?”
All three nodded firmly.
Eliza’s eyes filled with emotion. “Okay, then… I’ll stay.”
Living with the Madden family felt like stepping into a dreamy fairy tale, surrounded by endless affection.
Orson and Polly doted on her, preparing her favorite breakfast every morning, with a spread of delicate pastries and fresh fruits.
Polly would gently ask about her sleep and thoughtfully choose her outfits each day to suit her taste.
Dean was her constant companion, guiding her through the sprawling mansion.
They strolled through the lush gardens, where Dean would pick a rose and tuck it gently into her hair, his gaze full of admiration.
He also took her to the mansion’s private cinema to watch her favorite movies, where they’d cozy up on the plush sofa, sharing their thoughts and feelings.
When Eliza wanted to continue painting, the Maddens didn’t hesitate to support her passion.
Orson had a spacious, sunlit studio built just for her, filled with top–notch art supplies and rare paints.
Polly sourced renowned artworks for her to study and invited esteemed art teachers to guide her. Dean often spent peaceful afternoons in the studio with her, quietly admiring her focus and growing more fond of her every day.
The Maddens frequently hosted lavish gatherings, inviting distinguished guests from far and wide.
At each event, they would proudly introduce Eliza as the Madden family’s lady. In these moments, Eliza

blossomed, her confidence and talent shining for all to see. Dean always kept her close, making sure she felt completely secure.
When Eliza fell ill, the Madden family’s care was unwavering
Orson immediately reached out to the world’s top medical experts for thorough examinations and treatment. Polly personally cooked nourishing soups, feeding her with patience and love.
Dean remained by her side day and night, vigilantly watching over her recovery, his eyes filled with concern and tenderness.
Under the Madden family’s and Dean’s devoted care, Eliza transformed. She was no longer the timid, self–doubting girl but a vibrant young woman, embraced by love and warmth.
