Chapter 6
Tommy was startled and could only watch helplessly as the balloon floated away.
Not far away, Daniel also noticed what had happened and walked over.
When he got closer, he saw me holding a little boy.
He asked, “Who is this?”
I couldn’t be bothered with these two. I picked up Tommy and turned to leave.
But Ryan chased after us, grabbing Tommy’s clothes.
He shouted, “You can’t hold him. Get him down.”
Tommy staggered as he was pulled, and his toy fell to the ground.
He quickly picked it up and pushed Ryan away.
Tommy said, “Why are you so mean? This is the gift Aunt Emily
gave me.”
i was the exact toy he had
Ryan looked at it and saw wanted. He immediately stepped forward to snatch it.

He shouted, “You little thief. This was bought by my mom. Give it back to me.”
Tommy cried loudly, “I’m not a thief. This is Aunt Emily’s gift to me.”
“Give it back to Tommy,” I demanded.
I reached out, grabbed the toy, and gave it back to Tommy.
I snapped, “You have so many toys. Why do you have to fight with Tommy for this one?”
Ryan looked at me in disbelief.
He yelled, “Why are you buying toys for this little beggar? Are you his mother?”
I didn’t answer him.
I turned to Daniel and said, “You seem to have plenty of time, playing here with Ryan while skipping school.”
A sweet voice suddenly came from the crowd. It was none other than Ivy.
She winked at me and said, “I brought Ryan here to cheer him up. He was in a bad mood.
“The kindergarten lesson doesn’t matter. Ryan is at the age where he should be playing.”
Chapter 6
Since Daniel didn’t object, I didn’t say anything else.
Just as I was about to leave, I heard her say, “You must be Emily, right? I’m Ivy, Daniel’s secretary.”
Her tone was meaningful.

She added, “I didn’t expect that Ryan calling me ‘Mom‘ would matter so much to you. He’s still young. He just wanted to show off that he has a beautiful mom in front of his classmates. I hope you don’t mind. I never meant to interfere with your family.”
I gave her a mocking smile. “I don’t mind at all. You don’t need to think too much. Men are like tissues. You use them and throw
them away. If one is bad quality, just throw it away and use another.
“But some girls who have no self–respect still like to pick up used tissues. They’re dirty, smelly, and can’t clean anything.
“Don’t you agree, Miss Hughes?”
My words embarrassed them both.
Ryan was throwing a tantrum, while Tommy blinked at me.
He asked, “Emily, is the dirty, smelly tissue used for wiping butts?
“You can’t pick that up. It’s not sanitary.”
I couldn’t help but laugh at his innocent words.
Chapter 6
I tapped his nose and praised him, “You’re so smart.”
I ignored them and led Tommy toward the playground.
Ryan tried to block our way, but then Daniel grabbed him.

Daniel said, “Don’t you like Ms. Hughes? Let her play with you.”
Ryan retorted, “I don’t want to. I want my mom. That little beggar stole my mom.”
