Chapter 1
Katie Morley was dragged away in the cage. Nathan Morley followed behind, his steps cold and steady, walking into the dim warehouse.
He waved his hand. The others quickly left.
Katie crawled to the edge of the cage and grabbed his pant leg, begging nonstop.
“Nathan, I was wrong. Please, I swear I won’t love you anymore.
“You know I have no family left. This baby is the only family I’ve got. You can’t take it away.”
Nathan frowned at her hands gripping his pants, then he pulled back in disgust.
“A month ago you were trying to climb into my bed, and now you’re carrying someone else’s kid.
“Katie, I never realized you were so shameless.”
Katie’s heart clenched, a storm raging in her chest. And the next second, she was doubled over, dry heaving on the floor.
Nathan felt even more disgusted seeing her forehead veins throb and her face contort in pain.
If she hadn’t recklessly confessed to him in front of everyone three years ago, she wouldn’t be suffering like this now.
She could have remained the Morley family’s little princess, the cherished sister he kept close and protected.

But now, she had only herself to blame.
Nathan’s assistant hurried in with a doctor in tow.

Hearing footsteps, Katie forced herself to lift her head, just in time to see Nathan signaling to them. It was clear–the woman in the cage was the one who needed the procedure.
The doctor hesitated. “Mr. Morley, the conditions here are really rough. I’m afraid it’s not suitable for a termination.”
Nathan’s eyes turned cold. “Your hospital gets millions in investment from the Morley Group every year. This isn’t the time to tell me what’s suitable or not.”
The doctor immediately bowed, “Don’t worry, Mr. Morley. We’ll take care of it.”
The assistant unlocked the cage. Several doctors, carrying their medical kits, climbed inside.
Katie recoiled in terror. “Nathan, don’t! I’m really sorry, I swear I won’t
love you anymore!
“Please, don’t take my baby.
“I’ll stay far away from you, I’ll never show up in front of you again, I’m begging you…”
It was only then that the doctor recognized her–the Morley family’s
heiress.
His hands trembled, the vial of anesthesia suddenly burning hot in his grip.
The assistant saw Nathan’s face growing darker and urged the doctor to hurry up.

Chapter 1
Katie fought wildly, truly regretting everything now.

Regretting that she ever loved him, regretting that confession three years ago, and regretting being drunk and ending up in his room a month ago.
Thankfully, nothing happened that night.
And for the past month, Nathan hadn’t shown any anger–so why was he suddenly auctioning her off, treating her so cruelly?
But in the next moment, the sharp click of high heels echoed through the warehouse. A woman appeared in Katie’s line of sight, and in an instant, everything became clear.
It was Emelia Halden–Nathan’s first love, his one and only obsession.
She was back.
Katie would never forget how infatuated Nathan had once been with
Emelia.
Now, Nathan turned and covered Emelia’s eyes with his broad hand. “It’s filthy in here. You shouldn’t see this.”
Emelia smiled. “We’re about to get married. I don’t want you to have . blood on your hands. Bad omen.”
Nathan sneered. “It’s just a lump of dead flesh. Doesn’t count as a life.”
The doctor, receiving the order, raised the syringe again.
Just as he was about to inject it, Emelia stopped him. “If this is punishment, let her remember it for the rest of her life.
“Wearing the Morley family name and dragging it through the mud–she deserves it.
“If you ask me, skip the anesthesia.”

The air froze for three seconds. Then Nathan said, in a low voice, “Fine.”
He wrapped his arm around Emelia’s waist and quickly led her out.
Just then, his phone rang. As he listened to the call, his expression changed. He spun around, shouting for the procedure to stop.
When he looked back, the Katie who had been fighting so desperately was now lying motionless on the filthy floor, a strange calm on her face- so out of place for someone who’d always been a neat freak.
J’Did you hear me or not?!”
A voice snapped from the phone. Nathan hung it up, strode to the cage, and looked at Katie’s vacant eyes, his own voice devoid of any warmth.
“Surgery’s off. You, get up and come home with me. Now.”
