Chapter 19
When Katie saw Emelia at the ICU entrance, she didn’t even think twice. before slapping her.
On the way there, she had already heard people say that Emelia was coming to ask Owen for a favor, she also wanted to get married in that private castle and wanted Owen to help her contact. But Owen refused flatly. Fed up with Emelia’s pestering, he finally said, “I never wanted Nathan to marry you in the first place, but he is determined and I can’t stop him, but asking me to do something for you, that is absolutely out of the question.”
Owen’s contempt stung her. She had done nothing wrong, so why did Owen dislike her so much? “Are you out of your mind? How can you spoil a nobody like Katie and be so cruel to your own grandson?”
Owen was furious immediately. He had never been scolded like this before, not even once in his life.
In the past, this would have been subject to military law, and in severe cases, could result in expulsion from the military.
So he swung a slap at him.
Owen spent half of his life on horseback, those hands had held countless knives and chopped down many devils, each time with full force.
Even though many years have passed without fighting, the habitual actions cannot be changed.
In no time, Emelia’s face had swollen up high.
The burning pain was so intense, it even made her head start buzzing. She
was extremely angry.
In the years before they were expelled, their family lived very poorly. Sometimes they even fought with beggars for benches. There was also a rough and fierce beggar who would snatch the food she had begged so hard for from her mouth. During those days, she lived like a ghost.
The days she spent with Nathan were really wonderful. She was respected wherever she went, and no one bullied her anymore.
Owen’s sudden slap unexpectedly awakened her dark memories from the past.
She covered her face and retorted again, “Katie has ruined the reputation of the Morley family, and you still protect her. Do you know how Nathan has been ridiculed everywhere he goes because of her over the years? He has carried so much on his shoulders, but you never seem to care about his feelings!”
Owen was confused, what corruption, what poking in the spine?
Emelia realized that Owen didn’t know anything at all, and in that moment, she hated him even more.
-Katie caused so much trouble for the Morley Group, yet everyone still
kept it a secret from Owen, afraid that he would blame her and that she would be wronged. So, without hesitation, she decided to come clean and reveal everything.
“She failed to confess her feelings, and even tried to climb into Nathan’s bed. However, Nathan caught her and kicked her out. Feeling
disheartened, she ended up sleeping with a random guy.”
“You thought that the child in her belly was Zane’s, maybe even Zane himself didn’t know. Katie has really humiliated herself.”
Chapter 19
“You, who have such a morally corrupt character, are the one who is held in high regard by others!”
Emelia cursed heartily, but suddenly realized that Owen was unusually quiet at the moment, not interrupting or cursing back.
Finally feeling relieved, Owen, with his noble character, could absolutely not accept this kind of thing, so he must be thinking about how to deal
with Katie.
She took a long breath and turned her head slowly, only to find Owen lying unconscious on the bed, foaming at the mouth.
She panicked immediately and quickly called for a doctor.
Just then, Nathan arrived. When Nathan asked her, she completely panicked. She wanted to hide the truth, but her mind was in chaos and she couldn’t speak coherently. However, anyone with keen eyes could see that Owen had been driven to faint by her anger.
So when Katie saw her, she was so angry that she raised her hand and swung it towards her, still swollen on one side of her face.
The person who could be beaten was not Emelia, but Nathan.
