Series 27
Both Alexander and Wren exclaimed in shock, “What?” Wren and Alexander responded simultaneously in shock, their reactions mirroring each other perfectly.
Alexander gave Wren a sideways glance, wondering if Oscar’s suggestion had anything to do with her.
With a forced chuckle, Wren responded, “Oscar, isn’t that a little excessive?”
Immediately, Oscar adopted a pitiful look. “I’m just feeling a bit lonely and thought it’d be nice if you and Alexander could keep me company more often. Is that unreasonable?” He embodied the image of a dejected elder now.
Both Alexander and Wren didn’t know what to say.
With a heavy sigh that carried a tone of resignation, Oscar continued, “Never mind, I understand. Young people like you wouldn’t want to stay with an old fellow like me. It’s okay; a bit of solitude won’t harm me—”
Unable to bear such words from Oscar, Wren quickly interjected, “Oscar, I’ll move back here to keep you and Daisy company.”
She only said she would move back, not mentioning Alexander at all.
