Chapter 24
The girl shot Aiden a sharp glare. “What’s the point of having you guys around? Why is he still here? He scared me, you know!“>
Aiden’s face tightened. He immediately stepped in front of her, blocking Sean from getting any closer, his eyes stern.
“Mr. Rangel, I’m going to have to ask you to leave. If you don’t go now, I’ll call security.“}
But Sean acted like he didn’t hear a word. He lunged forward, reaching desperately for the girl’s hand.
“Bella, it’s me. Don’t you remember me?”
Before she could answer, Aiden cut in, calm but firm. “Sir, you’ve got the wrong person. She’s not Bella–she’s Ms. Lopez, the eldest daughter.”
The words hit Sean like a punch to the gut. He swayed, stunned. “What… what did you just say?“}
Aiden looked at him and sighed. “Ms. Lopez and Bella are cousins. They look so much alike people mistake them for twins. The woman you saw at the airport with Bella’s parents–that was Ms. Lopez, not Bella. After you sent Bella abroad, she worried about her parents being alone. So she asked her cousin, who happened to be home, to help look after them.“>
“I know losing Bella has been hard, but you can’t just see her everywhere.”}
Sean shook his head, refusing to accept it. “No, that’s not true! She is Bella. She has the scar on her wrist from when she saved me. I know it’s her!“}
He shoved past Aiden, determined to grab the girl’s wrist and pull up her sleeve for proof.
A sharp slap echoed through the room. Moria’s cheeks were flushed with anger. She pointed a furious finger at Sean.}
“What is your problem? If you can’t tell people apart, go see a doctor. Stop harassing me!“>
She turned to Aiden. “Why are you just standing there? Call security and get him out of here!“}
A group of guards rushed over, grabbing Sean and dragging him away. He struggled, calling out, “Bella! Bella!”
Moria watched, cold and unmoved, until he was gone. Then she pulled out her phone and called Bella.)
After hearing what happened, Bella sighed. “Thanks for handling that today. Sorry for the trouble.”

Back when Miranda convinced her to fake her death, Bella thought Sean would believe she was really gone and stop searching for her.
But she never expected Sean to keep coming back for a whole year, sometimes waiting outside the Lopez family estate for days, refusing to leave.}
With no other options, Bella finally asked her cousin to pretend to be her, hoping Sean would finally accept that the wasn’t Bella, but Moria.
It seemed to work–days passed and there was no sign of Sean coming around.”
In a villa in Paris, Sear sat at his desk, staring at the papers in front of him, growing paler by the minute.
How could this be? How could he have mistaken someone else for Bella?}
Even if it was only for a second, he was sure–he’d know Bella anywhere.
So why did she turn into someone else right before his eyes?!
Had Bella really died in that plane crash? Was everything after just a cruel trick of his mind?
Sean’s eyes grew empty, haunted. At that moment, Aiden knocked on the study door.
“Mr. Rangel, someone’s here to see you.”!
Sean frowned. He didn’t have any friends in France. Who could it be?
woman he saw
He walked downstairs and caught sight of a familiar silhouette on the sofa. For a second, he thought he was dreaming again. When the woman looked up, Sean almost laughed at himself. Of course–it was Moria, the woman he’d mistaken for Bella. Moria stood up as he entered.M
“Mr. Rangel, I owe you an apology for last time. I didn’t have all the facts,” she said sincerely.§
Sean shook his head. “No, I was out of line. I should be apologizing.”
After a moment of polite back–and–forth, Sean finally asked why she was there.
Moria’s expression turned serious. “Before my cousin passed away, she sent me a voice recording–a final message. There are some things she wanted to say to you.”
She paused, searching his face. “Would you like to listen to it now?“!
