Chapter 2
“Grace, this is the essay topic I predicted. As long as you prepare as I instruct, I’m sure you can get a full mark on the essay.”
Samson placed the essay topic he organized in front of me with great confidence.
Antonio, who was aside, joked, “Grace, if you don’t get a full mark, I’ll never bring you a cake again.”
They were joking, but I found it hard to laugh out loud.
Samson was my brother of course he wouldn’t frame me.
This book had been added on your bookshelf.
Antonio grew up with me and always protected me.
Once, someone wanted to bully me. He went up and beat them up, and they almost ended up in the ICU.
So, I was certain it was neither of them.
What went wrong then?
Ever since I entered the school, I had maintained great academic performance; in fact, I had always ranked first in my grade.
When I was at the best high school in town, I was always among the top three in my grade.
My teacher never doubted that I could make it to MIT.

So, after the plagiarism incident, my teacher and most of my fellow classmates believed in me.
They had all seen the essays I had written and knew that I didn’t need to plagiarize at all.
Yet, just then, Vivian suddenly released the surveillance footage during the exam.
It showed she had turned in her paper ten minutes before I did.
Also, she predicted the essay topic before the exam and posted her interpretation and thoughts on the topic on her social media account.
She wrote her essay based on them.
For several days in a row, I had been enduring the netizens‘ verbal abuse.
“Grace plagiarized Vivian’s essay. The solid proof is right here, yet Grace is still trying to deny it. How shameless.”
“They say Grace has always been a straight–A student. I bet she’s been plagiarizing all this time; it’s just she’s only exposed now.”
“I’m glad Samson didn’t show favoritism and lie for her just because he’s her brother, or Vivian would have been wrongfully accused.”
Because there were so many people discussing it, the matter soon became the center of public opinion.
The people in charge took the matter very seriously and immediately checked the proof Vivian provided.

After verification, the surveillance footage and the social media posts were genuine; there was no trace of modification.
They said I had indeed plagiarized Vivian’s paper.
I was dumbfounded.
I wrote the essay. Why would they say that?
But I had no proof to prove myself.
And there was one thing that baffled me even more. How
come Vivian’s essay was identical to mine?
Did Samson share the topic he predicted with her?
All those mysteries puzzled me.
But as for now, there was nothing strange about either Samson or Antonio.
I could only start with Vivian’s social media account.
According to the time I remembered, she should have already posted the post predicting the essay topic.
Yet, since Samson and Antonio had been around me, I could only write an essay outline quickly.
Then I pretended to have a stomachache and needed to go to the bathroom.
A trace of annoyance flicked across Antonio’s eyes.
“Samson has already given you the topic, and you still wanna slack off?”
Chapter 2
Samson quickly said, smoothing things over, “It’s just an
essay.
“Grace has time. There’s no need to rush her.

“As long as she prepares per my instructions, I’m sure she can. get a great score.”
But I wanted to find the truth; for me, the clock was ticking.
After locking the bathroom door, I immediately clicked on Vivian’s social media profile page.
I heard that her parents were professors at MIT, and she was pretty, so she had a lot of fans.
Personally, I didn’t know her.
But Samson worked as a teaching assistant at MIT, and he had met her several times.
Once, I overheard him saying to Antonio that compared to me, Vivian was more delicate and tender; I, on the other hand, was a tomboy.
He also said that Vivian was the perfect girlfriend guys ever wanted; she came from a perfect family and was pretty.
Back then, I thought he was joking.,
Now I realized I was wrong.
I didn’t get it; Vivian had everything she wanted. Why would she set me up?
Just then, I saw her latest post.

She said that she had predicted the essay topic and wanted to share it with everyone.
Upon seeing the topic, I was stunned.
It was the topic Samson had predicted.
She even posted her own interpretation of the topic, which was exactly the same as what I had written in my notebook.
Her fans were all praising her.
“Vivian is so pretty and kind. She actually shares with us the topic she predicted. How could someone be so perfect?”
“Agreed. If I see this topic during the exam, I won’t have a clue how to write about it. I’m so glad I saw her interpretation in advance.”
Samson and Vivian predicted the same topic, which might be a coincidence.
But how come her outline was identical to mine?
Only Samson and Antonio had set foot in my study. It must be them!
The thought sent shivers down my back.
I didn’t understand. Why would they do this?
One was my blood relative, and the other was a friend I grew up with. Could it be that in their eyes, I was no match for Vivian, whom they had only known for half a year?
I sat on the toilet and pondered for an hour. Finally, I decided to change my writing perspective.
Chapte
Since in my previous life, Vivian’s essay was exactly the same as mine, I’d write a new one.
Whatever score I got, at least I wouldn’t be accused of being a plagiarizer.
