Chapter 460
Evander sat down, taking a sip of the cereal that had been handed to him.
“If it weren’t for Edie’s scheming all those years ago. Freya wouldn’t have moved out, Evander murmured thoughtfully, nodding slightly. “But even now, since she’s moved into the Stewart family, she’s been playing by the rules, keeping her distance from Percival”
Without blood ties, people are always quick to turn things into rumors. Freya and he spoke on the phone occasionally, but she rarely came to the Stewart Villa, and no one really knew about the connection between her and the family. She never relied on them, either.
“Anyone else would’ve failed to do that, Evander added, his tone reflective.
Dorian, who had been listening intently, sighed. “I wonder if Edie regrets marrying into the Bennett family. From the looks of things, it’s a mess over there now. She’s not going to gain anything from it.”
It was clear to anyone with half a brain that Edie’s decision was a colossal mistake.
“Speaking of which, the person you had me keep an eye on–he came back from the mountain village. I was watching him, but last night, Callum’s people let their guard down, and he managed to escape”
“The Bennett Villa was empty last night, and after he went to the Bennett family, he took control of Hannah. Now his people are staying there. Should we go after him?” Dorian asked quietly, his tone cautious,
Evander knew exactly who he was talking about.
This man had previously been the tailor for the Stewart family, creating all their custom clothes.
After Odalys arrived at the old house and pulled that dead man’s clothes out of the pool, Evander had started suspecting something.
He
wasn’t old enough to lose his wits.
“Since Percival has already made his move, let him stay with the Bennett family. As long as he doesn’t try to harm anyone from the Stewart family, he can keep his miserable life. But if he dares to target Percival or Odalys…” Evander’s eyes narrowed dangerously. “Then we kill him”
Dorian immediately nodded in understanding. Evander mer his gaze, and the two exchanged a silent, knowing smile.
“Old man.” Evander muttered, shaking his head.
Dorian chuckled and quietly served him more food.
up, Freya and Selah were already gone for
In a hotel room in Film Capital, Odalys slept soundly until onc in n the afternoon. When she finally woke up, Fr their shoot, leaving her alone in the bedroom.
“Mm…” She stretched lazily, enjoying the comfort of the bed before slowly getting up.
“After washing up, she glanced at the clothes on the sofa
As she picked them up, a small piece of paper slipped out. It was Freya’s handwriting. “Odalys, I washed your clothes and got you a new set. Love your
Odalys stared at the note for a moment before her gaze shifted to the black camisole in her hands. A soft silence followed.
She slipped into the black camisole, which highlighted her beautiful collarbones and delicate shoulders. It wasn’t overly revealing, but it perfectly outlined her slender waist and enhanced her graceful figure.
The silk fabric gave her an almost ethereal glow.
Her long hair was casually tied in a low ponytail as she picked up her canvas bag and headed toward the door.
“Just as she opened it, she saw a tall figure standing in the living room. The man’s back was turned as he gazed down through the floor–to–ceiling
windows.
“Percival? What are you doing here? Odalys asked, stepping forward lightly.

Hearing her voice. Percival slowly turned around. His eyes met hers, and for a moment, he froze, his gaze lingering on her beautiful black camisole. the soft curve of her shoulders, and the faint fragrance she carried. She moved like a gentle breeze, stirring something deep inside him.
As she smiled at him, his throat tightened.
“I thought something might have happened here, so I came to check on you Percival said, his voice awkward.
His gare dropped to her collarbones, and he instinctively turned his face away, unable to look directly at her.
Odalys blinked in surprise, slowly realizing what must’ve happened. It seemed like whatever occurred here last night had already made its way into the public eye
It wasn’t a surprise–police involvement would naturally lead to some kind of report.
Yes, something did happen last night, Odalys confirmed.
She explained the events in detail and Percival listened in silence. But just as the conversation seemed to settle, a lazy voice cut through the air.
“So, someone’s targeting Francis now?” Orson’s voice was casual as he leaned against the couch, his posture completely relaxed.
Odalys turned in surprise, finding him stretched out on the sofa, one leg raised and resting on the coffee table. His air of carefree arrogance was unmistakable.
“Orson, what are you doing here?” Odalys asked, a hint of surprise in her voice.
Though Orson often followed Percival around, it wasn’t unusual for him to be nearby when Percival was around. So, his presence here made sense
in that context,
“Percival came to check on you, but I also had something to discuss, so I tagged along. Orson said with a shrug, quickly retracting his leg from the table. He stood up, holding an iPad in his hand and walked toward Odalys, handing it to her.
“This is a list of people Oliver’s been in contact with over the past month, along with his movements. Our people have pinpointed a small alley where we suspect he’s hiding. I didn’t want to send anyone in yet, though, in case we alert him.”
As Orson mentioned the alley, Odalys couldn’t help but remember the old man she had seen rushing toward the same alley a while back, ultimately entering a quadrangle courtyard that had been subtly altered to contain an energy field.
“Is this the place?” Odalys asked, opening a photo on her phone.
Orson leaned over, took a quick glance at the photo, and nodded. “Yes, this is the one. He headed into a courtyard further inside.”
“It seems like Oliver knows the old tailor from the mountain village. No wonder his son died at the Bennet Villa–he was trying to time it perfectly Odalys muttered with a sharp laugh.
Everything was starting to make sense now.
“No wonder Oliver’s been so smooth in Crownridge’s upper circles, Looks like the old tailor has been helping him out behind the scenes,” Odalys added, her voice tinged with irony.
“Are they really acquainted? My people never reported them meeting Orson scratched his head, confused.
He was beginning to feel that everyone involved in this situation was far more complicated than he had initially thought.
is the problem,” Odalys said. “This man is all about revenge. Why hasn’t he teamed up with anyone? He’s been working alone, which is
“Not meeting is t strange.”
The people who blend in the most are often the most dangerous.
“Oh, and remember when you told me to let Finnian go? Well, after I did, I had people keep an eye on him. Last night, Sophia was quietly pulled out of the police station by someone. Finnian must’ve been tracking me, but instead, he ran into Sophia. After injuring her, he took her away.
Orson shared the latest news in a low voice, adding yet another layer to the complex web they were all tangled in.
