As she leaned over him to fasten it, her body brushed against him, her hair falling across his face and shoulders. A few strands caught on his fingers as he gently played with them.
“Odalys,” Percival murmured, his voice hushed. His throat tightened as he instinctively called her name.
Odalys finished fastening the seatbelt and, hearing him call out, looked up in confusion–only to meet his deep, dark gaze. The intensity in his eyes made her freeze for a moment
“What would you like to eat tonight?” Percival asked, breaking the tense silence.
Odalys closed the car door and walked to the driver’s side, settling into the seat. “I won’t be eating at home tonight. I just told Freya and the others I’m taking them to the nightclub.”
Percival frowned at the mention of the nightclub.
“You’re going to the nightclub?” He couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
Odalys couldn’t help but laugh, feeling lighthearted. “Of course! It’s been a while since I’ve had a chance to spend money. Besides, Freya and the others rarely don’t have rehearsals tonight, so we made plans to hang out.”
