Chapter 575
“Odalys looked at him and glanced at his leg, clearly puzzled by what he had said.
ou sure?” she asked, her voice tinged with uncertainty
“Are you
Percival caught the doubt in her eyes. His throat tightened, and his fingers gripped the seatbelt more firmly as though trying to steady himself. The intensity in his dark gaze seemed to fade gradually.
After a brief pause, he asked. “Does my age bother you?”
Odalys didn’t respond immediately. Percival turned to look at her, only to see her leaving the car. He sat there, watching her jog away, and absentmindedly rubbed his forehead, feeling the weight of the situation
It wasn’t long before she returned, holding a cup of coffee.
“Here you go.” Odalys said, handing it to him while she sipped her smoothie.
Percival stared at the coffee in his hands, his expression conflicted. He tightened his grip around the cup but didn’t drink.
“Hold on, what did you say earlier?” Odalys asked, her voice tinged with confusion.
As she exited the car, she heard something about disliking age but didn’t quite understand what he meant.
“It’s nothing.” Percival replied, quickly looking away. He sipped the coffee, realizing the taste was how he liked it–strong and black with just a touch of milk. The bitterness lingered in his mouth as he stared out the window, lost in thought.
He rarely sat in the passenger seat, but now, with Odalys behind the wheel, he couldn’t help but watch her as she drove. His emotions stirred as he observed her focused expression in the rearview mirror.
Percival thought. Tve always been confident, but I feel more cautious around her, afraid that one wrong move might make her want to leave. If she decides to go. I won’t stop her
“By the way,” Odalys suddenly spoke, breaking his thoughts. “This morning Celeste brought me a piece of rare emerald from Oswald. I felt a strange connection when I held it–like memories from a past life. But then it stopped, and I’m not sure what happened.”
Odalys thought, I had meant to tell him about this, but in all the chaos, I completely forgot until now.”
“Percival glanced up at her, his lashes fluttering slightly, but he remained silent.
Odalys sensed the shift in Percival’s mood and said nothing more. She glanced at him occasionally as she drove, noticing he seemed lost in thought.
She stepped out when the car stopped in front of Stewart Villa, but Percival remained silent.
“I’ll have a couple of bodyguards follow you,” he said as he walked toward the villa. “You may be capable, but you’re not familiar with nightclubs. It’s reassuring to know you have someone with you.
Odalys quickly jogged up to him and grabbed has sleeve.
He stopped, the pain in his leg flaring slightly, but he didn’t show it
“When you were injured, the dried blood you packed away… take it over to Morpheus’s place and place it on that patch of earth,” she said softly, pointing toward the large tree.
Percival nodded and said, “Understood.”
He walked forward, his steps large despite the injury, moving with confidence plat masked the pain. He wasn’t one to show weakness.
Percival reached the patch of earth where the blood would be placed and pressed it down firmly. After standing silently for a while, he finally spoke.
“Morpheus, I care about her. What do you think I should do?” he asked, his voice low as if he were talking to himself. “I know I’m much older than her. The man she’d probably prefer at her age isn’t someone like me. If she decides to leave, should I let her go!”
Images of her smiling, her joyful expression, filled his mind. It felt as though she was slipping further away from him
Percival’s fingers tightened into a fist. He thought, Odalys is so strong, yet it makes me feel insignificant. I can easily control everything around me and run a business empire, but I have no control over her

When he turned around, he noticed Odalys standing at a distance, playing with her phone, possibly chatting with someone. He was momentarily surprised, thinking she had already left, but here she was, waiting for him.
Feeling his gaze, Odalys walked toward him quickly and took his arm. “Your leg is still injured; be careful when walking,” she said gently. “If you can handle things from home, don’t go out. If you don’t rest properly, you’ll end up with rheumatism in the future.”
She helped him walk toward Stewart Villa,
Just then, one of the bodyguards approached quickly, looking pleased “Mr. Stewart, Callum has regained consciousness,” the bodyguard reported.
Percival’s tense brow relaxed a little at the news. “What about others? Any sign of improvement?” he asked.
They woke
up carlier, Mr. Stewart. Their injuries weren’t as severe as Callum’s”
“Good. Let them rest for now. Give them the day off. Once they’re fully recovered, send them back to work. Also, give them an extra injury compensation of 300 thousand dollars each,” Percival ordered.
The bodyguard quickly nodded and said, “Understood, I’ll take care of it immediately”
so generous. It was no wonder his employees were so loyal–he made sure to take care of
Odalys was taken aback. She hadn’t expected him to be so ger them.
“I’ll check on Callum. You should get some rest. Percival said, glancing at Odalys.
Odalys didn’t respond immediately; instead, she guided him toward the rear garden.
When they reached Callum’s room, Percival knocked softly before entering. Callum sat on the edge of the bed, looking dazed, not noticing Percival’s arrival
‘Callum how are you feeling” Percival asked, his voice filled with concern
Callum’s body tensed at Percival’s voice and instinctively reached for something under his pillow, his hand searching for a gun. But as soon as he pulled his hand back,
“Mr. Stewart, what are you doing here?” Callum asked, clearly confused. He thought, ‘It’s not like Percival to return at this hour, he’s usually busy. with work.
“I wrapped up everything and came to check on you. How are you holding up?” Percival asked again, his worry apparent.
Odalys stepped aside and poured a glass of water for Callum.
“Thank you, Mrs. Stewart,” Callum said as he took the glass. After sipping from it, he placed the cup on the bedside table and met Percival’s gaze.
“My injury isn’t too bad, but I can’t remember how it happened,” he confessed. “I do recall we were looking into someone named Simpson, and the more we dug, the more things didn’t add up. All the leads pointed to the Simpson family”
“We also discovered that Francis’s ex–fiancee and other women with similar stories were all connected to someone named Simpson”
