Chapter 580
“They should have dealt with–either driven them out of the Bennett family or eliminated them. But Windsor didn’t do that which doesn’t align with his usual character or principles, Percival analyzed calmly.
“He continued thoughtfully, “Back at the Simpson villa, under the moonlight, and with the help of your charm, we saw two overlapping figures within his body. Could it be that his body originally held one soul, but his shadow split into two?”
“Odalys’s eyes sparkled with realization. She wondered. The suggestion shattered my confusion–it’s like a door has suddenly opened, bringing clarity to everything=”
“Are you planning to take action against Windsor?” Percival asked after a brief pause, his voice low.
Odalys nodded, stepping forward to sit on a nearby chair. Leaning back, she tilted her head to gaze at the night sky.
The entire Bennett family’s mental state is off. Everyone is selfish and unscrupulous, willing to do anything to achieve their goals. Even Sophia endangered Henry’s safety by using his attempts to track her as leverage, ultimately selling him out”
“Spread the word for me. Odalys said, her tone decisive. “Lure the Bennett family members to the nightclub tonight. Let them see what’s happening with Windsor being sold out, and while you’re at it, expose Sophia’s involvement.”
Percival chuckled, the sound catching Odalys off guard.
“You’ve already done it, haven’t you?” she asked, holding her breath.
He nodded and moved to sit beside her
“Yes, it’s all arranged. It wouldn’t truly be entertaining if only you got involved. Bringing the Bennett family into it–that’s the real spectacle,” he said with a faint smile.
Odalys studied his handsome face, her gaze sparkling. Her emotions
is were c complex–a mix of admiration and something deeper.
Odalys thought, I had never encountered a man who could strategize with precision, whose thoughts aligned with mine so effortlessly. Our mental connection was so profound that our thoughts merged seamlessly, moving in perfect harmony. No explanations were necessary; we understood
each other.
“Lift your leg. Let me see Odalys said abruptly.
Percival raised an eyebrow, about to speak, but before he could, she had already lifted his leg and rested it on her knee. Gently, she rolled up his pant leg, revealing the neatly wrapped bandages.
The wound on his leg came into view. Odalys scrutinized it before nodding in satisfaction.
“Avoid getting it wet. In a couple of days, it should be nearly healed.” Odalys said as she rewrapped the bandage and smoothed down the fabric. When she glanced up, she realized Percival had been watching her intently. Her cheeks flushed red.
“By the way, the dried blood from my injury you asked me to collect and leave with Morpheus–does it have a purpose? Percival said, breaking the silence
Odalys paused, knowing he was curious for a reason.
“The trap W
Windsor set held a significant amount of energy. Using your blood as a catalyst could amplify that power even further.
“When I returned, I brought that energy with me. Placing it under the tree, with your blood as a channel, was an experiment–to see if I could awaken Morpheus. Since the first day I saw him, he hasn’t reappeared, and I’m unsure what to expect
“His accident was the turning point for everything–the catalyst that exposed the true face of Edie and uncovered the Simpson family’s schemes. It
all started there
“Morpheus is a crucial piece in all of this. Even when we saw the time tunnel, I felt it connected to him, as if he’s been orchestrating events behind the scenes. I want to see him again,” she said, her words trailing off
Percival fell silent, his expression thoughtful.
He glanced at his wrist and asked, “Should I let out more blood to try again!”
“Pfit.” Odalys stalled a laugh, caught off guard by this unexpected side of Percival 1/2
This has nothing to do with the amount of blood,” she said, still amused. “What we used earlier was enough. Besides, it’s laced with Oliver’s energy and aura. If he’s involved. Morpheus would sense it and wake up.“.
Before they could continue, someone came running toward them from a distance.
It was Callum, still dressed in his hospital gown, his face pale and bloodless. He was wearing slippers and moved with difficulty, his legs visibly injured.
The worst of his wounds were on his torso, and his right arm was immobile, yet he gritted his teeth and pushed forward as though something urgent had happened.
“Callum, why are you out of bed?” Percival immediately stood and walked toward him.
Callum was panting heavily, his wounds reopening with the strain of running. Blood seeped through his hospital gown, staining it red, but his eyes burned with determination.
“Mr. Stewart, Mrs. Stewart, I just received news that Elias from the East District is looking for someone attractive to arrange a posthumous marriage for his son. Someone spotted Caspian driving there in secret, Callum said urgently,
Though it wasn’t clear why Caspian
an had gone, Callum knew this was information Odalys needed immediately.
At the mention of posthumous marriage, Odalys felt her mind go blank momentarily.
She thought. It all came rushing back–my past life. After I jumped to my death, everyone from the Bennet family had left, except for Caspian. He had draped a coat over my lifeless body to preserve my dignity and then made a call to arrange a posthumous marriage.
“But before anything could proceed, Percival arrived. He had taken me away by force, carrying me to the mountain. Everything after that was a blur.
Hearing the phrase posthumous marriage again and knowing Caspian was involved, it felt like the past was repeating itself. But in this life, she hadn’t jumped to her death. She had already severed ties with the Bennett family long ago.
Odalys thought. If Caspian was still pursuing this posthumous marriage, one candidate could be left in the Bennett Villa–Sophia
“Could he be planning to use Sophia for marriage? Now that would be interesting” Odalys said, a faint smile curling her lips.
Odalys thought, The Bennett family was always so predictably selfish. They would do anything to secure an advantage, no matter how despicable the means.
“Mrs. Stewart, our people are still monitoring the situation, Callum continued, his voice heavy with concern. “Caspian left shortly after entering the mansion, but we couldn’t confirm if any deals were made. We didn’t dare investigate further for fear of tipping them off.
Callum hesitated before adding, “I came to tell you immediately because I’m worried. If they’re targeting you, it could be dangerous. The Bennett family is in shambles, and their desperation might push them to do something reckless”
His loyalty and concern were evident. Since Odalys had married into the family, Percival’s health had improved significantly. Seeing how much she cared for Percival, Callum had developed a deep respect for her and wanted to shield her from harm.
He couldn’t shake the fear that if anything went wrong, it could cost Percival his life.
“Thank you for keeping an eye out,” Odalys said, her tone warm but firm. “We’ll handle this. You should focus on resting. Stop running around- you’ll only aggravate your injuries, and you’ll end up bedridden.”
Callum glanced down, noticing for the first time that his hospital gown was soaked with blood.
